Students selected to participate in Grand Finale of Karnataka StartUp India Idea Competition in Bengaluru

Students were selected from Sahyadri during the Startup India Boot Camp held at Sahyadri on 13th Dec' 18 in association with NAIN of Sahyadri. They will be participating in the Grand Finale of Karnataka State Startup India Idea Competition to be held at Bengaluri during 17th to 19th Dec' 18. Among the 11 teams selected, 8 are from First year BE and three from DT Labz, a great achievement. The result is due to the SSTH, SPSS, Hands-on and other social initiatives of the institution and collective efforts of First year faculty and our Startup teams Dreamers, Challengers and so on.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Adani Power Limited

Adani Power Limited visited Sahyadri to conduct a Pool Campus Recruitment drive for the Mechanical Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. Mr. Pavankumar Tiwari - Deputy Manager Human Resources, from the recruitment team was at the campus to facilitate the process. A total of 283 students from various colleges attended the drive and thirteen students were shortlisted, out of which, three students are from Sahyadri.

Director-MBA invited as a Chief Guest for the School Day Celebration of Mangala English Medium School, Mangaluru

Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA was invited as a Chief Guest for the School Day Celebration of Mangala English Medium School, Mangaluru. On the occasion, she addressed the students, teachers and parents and reiterated the essence of education for life. She also conveyed to parents how essential it is these days, to allow their ward to explore opportunities and involve in activities that they are passionate about. She also appreciated the efforts of the School Teachers for the role they play in shaping the character of school children.

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Sahyadri strives towards contributing right fitment to industries. To achieve this objective and enhance the quality of nurturing students, a stringent Mentor-Mentee System is being practiced which is yielding great results through one-one discussion between mentor and mentee related to career aspiration of students followed by coaching, counselling and mentoring to achieve it.


Introduction of the Mentor
Prof. Sushma V has 10 years of experience in corporate organization. Post which, she joined Sahyadri and is teaching in the MBA Dept for the last 5.5 years. She is an M.COM, MBA and currently pursuing her PhD from VTU, Belagavi. She has also cleared the UGC-KSET. Her areas of specialization are Human Resource Management and Managerial Communication. She is also the Chief Editor of Sahyadri Daily, Weekly and Monthly Buzz.

Introduction of the Mentees
• Rajesh is from Kokkade, Dharmasthala. He did his 10th from Govt. School Kokkade, PUC in St. George, Nelyady and Degree in SDM Ujire. He also has certification in Aptitude Test. He has also completed his Diploma in Computer Application. He plays both indoor and outdoor Sports and interested in Quiz. He is a Blog Writer in Word Press and has completed minor projects on “Impact of Video Games on students below 15 years of Age” and “Role of FDI on Indian Economy”. He is interested in finance and wants to pursue his career in a reputed Finance firm.
• Shrisha Upadhyaya is from Uchila. He did his 10th in PPC, Admar, PUC and Degree in PPC Udupi. He is passionate about Travelling & Driving. He is a swimmer too. He has done an organization study in a Co-operative Society, Udupi. He would pursue his MBA in Finance and take up a job abroad.
• Brendan Banze is from Udupi. He did his 10th in St Mary’s English Medium School Udupi, PUC in PPC Udupi and Degree in SMS Brahmavar. He plays Guitar and passionate about Travelling. He is a State Level Hand Ball Player and coaches his Juniors in Hand Ball. He is interest in Finance Specialization and would pursue his career in finance sector.
• Kashyap K S is from Kasaragod, Kerala. He did his 10th in Kasaragod, Kerala, PUC in Puttur Ambika College and Degree in Srinivas College, Mangaluru. He is interested in Sketching and Drawing. Kashyap will take up MBA in Marketing, work for 2 years in a corporate organization and then go back to his native and work on his Agricultural land. He would like to apply all that he learns during his MBA and take up his career in Agriculture to a different level.
• Ismail Rishan is from Mangaluru. He did his 10th in Milagres School, PUC in Milagres College and Degree in St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru. He has his certification in Soft Skills and Instagram Marketing. He is passionate about Workout and Fitness. He wishes to pursue his MBA in Marketing and later start his own Business.
• Adarsh Kumar is from Mangaluru. He did his 10th in St. Aloysius School, Urwa, PUC in Canara College and Degree in SDMCBM, Mangaluru. He has completed his Certification in Tally, Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship Development. He Reads Books and Listens to Music as a Hobby. He is a State Level Cricketer and was also selected for Bank Edge Training Programme. He is keen on building his career in HR and wants to serve in Managerial position in corporate organization.
• Nishwin N is from Kasaragod, Kerala. He did his 10th in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kanhangad, PUC in Iqbal HS College, Kanhangad and Degree in Peoples College, Munnar. He is passionate about Travelling and Photography. He is also into Body Building. He has an internship at Keltron Electronics Pvt Ltd Kannur. He wants to pursue his MBA in HR and seek opportunities in reputed HR firm.
• Karthik M is from Mangaluru. He did his 10th in Cascia High School, PUC in Sarojini Madusudhan Kushe and Degree in Canara College. He has a Certification in Industry Orientation. He is interested in Drawing and an NCC A Grade Certificate holder. He would take up Finance as his specialisation and seek employment opportunity in Banking Sector • Dhanyashree is from Bolanthoor Kalladka. She did her 10th in Shri Rama High School, Kalladka, PUC in Shri Rama College, Kalladka and Degree in Shri Rama College, Kalladka. She reads Kannada Novels as her hobby. She would take up Finance and work in a Finance firm.
• Deekshitha B R is from Mangaluru. She did her 10th in St. Aloysius School, Urwa, PUC in Canara College and Degree in SDMCBM, Mangaluru. She has Certifications in Tally, Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship Development. She sings and reads books as a hobby. She plays Hand Ball and won several prizes in college level Singing competitions. She wants to complete Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and MBA will help her in exemptions from few papers for completing ACCA.
