Director–R&D gives a Special Lecture to the staff & students at PESITM, Shivamogga

Dr. S Manjappa, Director-Research & Development was invited to give a special lecture arranged at PES Institute of Technology and Management (PESITM), Shivamogga to the staff and students on the topic "Technology Intervention and Rural Development" on 9th Dec’19.

Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP in association with BSE organizes Awareness Programme on ‘Financial Market’

Mr. Ramachandra Bhatt, Resource Person from Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) facilitated a session on ‘Financial Market’ to the students and faculty of Dept. of Business Administration on 10th Dec’19.

Mr. Bhatt emphasized on the various patterns of investment on the Capital Market. Being a Management Fraternity, the team should be the Role Model for others to take appropriate measures when investing in various financial products and services. He also highlighted how Capital Market products fetch good returns compared to other traditional financial products such as Bank FDs and RDs.

Faculty Receives Award in State Level Story Writing Competition, held at Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Bengaluru

Prof. Akshaya Kumari Shetty, Dept. of Humanities, secured 1st Place in Triveni Dathinidhi State Level Story Writing Competition, organized by Karnataka Lekhakiyara Sangha, Bengaluru, at an Award function held at Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Bengaluru, on 8th Dec’19.

Prof. S G Sidharamayya, Former President of Kannada Abivrudhi Praadhikaara and a well-known personality, was the Chief Guest, who felicitated the winners. Ms. Vanamaala Sampanna Kumar, President of Karnataka Lekhakiyara Sangha, presided over the function. Ms. Meera Kumar, daughter of Late Prof. Shanker and Triveni was also present.

Anasuya Shanker, a famous Novelist popularly known by her pen name as Triveni, passed away in her early age. She wrote a collection of almost 21 novels and 3 short stories. Almost all were very famous novels of that era and a few of them were made into feature films. In her fond memory her husband Prof Shanker started this foundation, through which Prof. Shanker and their daughter Meera Kumar encouraged and motivated young writers. Prof. Akshaya Kumari Shetty, won first place in this story writing competition.

Recruitment Drive - Amazon India

Amazon India conducted Off-campus Recruitment Drive at Sahyadri on 9th Dec'19, for all Freshers and experienced candidates from Mangaluru. The process began with a Pre-placement Talk followed by Online Assessment.

Mr. Murali Manoj, Recruiter HR, from Amazon, was at the campus to facilitate the entire process. Over 300 candidates participated in the drive.

She has 8 years of teaching experience. She has worked as a Lecturer in Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Moodubidri for 4 years. Her areas of interest are Data Mining, Machine Learning and Cyber Security.

• Pranita Shenoy Nagar is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from Canara High School. Her hobbies include reading books, drawing, singing and listening to music. She has participated in technical fest held at DAIICT, Gandhinagar, and Gujarat. She wants to become a successful engineer.
• R Aishwarya is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from Chinmaya School and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are dancing, playing volleyball, listening to music and playing guitar. She has participated in 'AMALTHEA-19' a technical fest held at IIT, Gandhinagar. She has won 'Swarun Smarananjali' award for her multifaceted achievement in the Year 2016-17. She is keen to explore new technologies and likes programming. She aspires to become a successful IT professional and excel in the field of Cyber Security.
• Sakshi Alva is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from Sri Ramakrishna School and PUC from N.S.A.M PU College. Her hobbies are dancing, singing and listening to music. She has participated in an event held at DA-IICT, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and bagged the "BEST BOT" Award. She aspires to become a successful IT engineer.
• Pratham Hedge is from Mangauru. He pursued his schooling from Presidency School and PUC from Vikas PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are dancing, singing and listening to music. He participated in an event held at NIT Kurukshetra, Haryana and bagged 2nd place in Robo Soccer. He aspires to become a successful IT engineer and wants to work in Infosys.
