RDL Technologies Pvt Ltd receives “The Best Patents Portfolio in Medium Enterprise in the Engineering category” of CII Industrial Intellectual Award 2019, held at New Delhi’

Sahyadri’s in-house Group of Companies- RDL Technologies Pvt. Ltd. bagged the “The Best Patents Portfolio in Medium Enterprise in the Engineering category” of CII Industrial Intellectual Award 2019 at the fifth International Conference on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) held during 3rd to 4th Dec’19 at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.

The Award was presented by Dr R A Mashelkar, recipient of Padma Vibhushan (Yr. 2014), Padma Bhushan (Yr. 2000) and Padma Shri (Yr. 1991).

The conference was also attended by eminent personalities like Mr. N. N. Prasad, Assistant Director-General & Chief of Staff in the Office of the Director-General, World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) - Geneva; Mr. Arvind Takur, Chairman, CII-IPR; and Mr. R. Saha, Senior Advisor-CII, who were also present during the awarding ceremony.

The fifth edition of CII Industrial Intellectual Property Awards were conferred on 11 companies on Wednesday for best portfolios in Patents, Design, and Trademarks. There were separate awards for large, medium, small-sized companies and start-ups in two broad categories of Engineering and Life Science.

The awards were given at 5th International IPR Conference, jointly organized by CII, Intellectual Property Office India and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. The theme of the conference was Innovation and IP led Technology for a $5 Trillion Economy.

CII Industrial Intellectual Property Awards aim at recognition and celebration of enterprises which have embraced IP generation and protection to fuel their business and economic growth. The purpose of these awards is to encourage organizations to foster a culture of IP and its commercialization, bring the achievements of enterprises in public domain, set up linkages with academic and research institutions in India and abroad, inform the government about IP-driven enterprises and engage such enterprises in policy-making exercises.

MBAs carry out Recruitment & Selection Process for their Juniors as a part of Practical Assignment

Second Year MBA-HR students were assigned the task of carrying out Recruitment & Selection Process for the 1st year MBAs which included:

• Workshop on ‘Resume Building, GD and Face to Face Interview’
• Typing Test
• Aptitude Test
• GD Round of Interview
• Face-To-Face Interview

Each process included Feedback in order to assess the Practical Assignment. Report incorporating the Feedback Analysis, Photographs and learning outcomes has been submitted. With this exercise, the HR Students have not only enhanced their competency in Recruitment & Selection, but have also analyzed their feedback and derived measures for self-development. The first years have learnt the Do’s and Don'ts in an Interview.

Sahyadri Toastmaster Club received the Bronze Citation Award in the Pathway Program and President’s Distinguished Club 18-19

Sahyadri Toastmaster Club received the Bronze Citation Award in the Pathway Program and President’s Distinguished Club 18-19. This new education program provides recognition earlier and more often in a member’s journey. In Pathways, one can choose one of 10 distinct learning paths. Choices include Presentation Mastery, Dynamic Leadership, Effective Coaching and Motivational Strategies. Each path is divided into five levels, which build in complexity from Level 1–5.

TM Madhura Hegde received Competent Leader Certificate from Toastmaster International.

TM Hiba, TM Shruddha Shetty, TM Manju Krishna, TM Nishanth, TM Shivaprasad and TM Shyam have received the Level 1 Certificate from Toastmaster International.

As part of ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’, students of Third Semester Information Science & Engineering visited Kadabettu Village in Bantwal

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India.

The mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. Under this, institutes through their faculty and students, will carry out studies of living conditions in adopted villages. They will also assess local problems and needs, workout possibilities of leveraging technological interventions and need to improve processes in implementation of various government schemes, prepare workable action plans for the selected villages.

The students of Information Science & Engineering interacted with the natives of Kadabettu Village to know the problems of the village. Students were accompanied by Prof Prakhyath Rai, Prof Madhura N Hegde, Prof Sangeetha S Harikantra, Prof Ranjana and lab instructors Ms Swaymprabha, Mr Praveev Damle and Mr Prajwal.

Student of Computer Science & Engineering gets Dual Certificate from NPTEL

Mr Vineet Nayak S, a student of 2nd Year Computer Science & Engineering and a VKSSF Scholar has been certified ‘Elite + Silver’ by NPTEL for successfully completing a course on Joy of Computing using Python during Jul to Nov’19. He has also been certified Elite for successfully completing course on Problem Solving through Programming C, during Jan to Apr ’19.

The duration of the above two courses is of 12 weeks exclusively.
