Managing Director of Kahani Designworks visits Sahyadri

Kahani-Designworks Mr. Raman Madhok, Director of Kahani Designworks visited Sahyadri. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman received the guest with the same cordiality which is reserved for the elite guests visiting Sahyadri.
Mr. Bhandary and Mr. Johnson Tellis, CEO-TCE interacted with Mr. Madhok and accompanied him around the campus and talked to him about the campus’ academic accomplishments.
Mr. Madhok visited various departments, labs, innovation centres, launch pads and start-ups. On having visited these, he had deep admiration for the student-centric initiatives undertaken by the college.
Mr. Madhok is on a 4-day visit to Sahyadri. He will be addressing faculty members of various departments during the next 3 days.
About the Guest:
Mr. Raman Madhok is a business strategist, master negotiator, prolific networker, executive coach and mentor and role model leader with 40 years of experience in Human Resources, Marketing Project Management and General Management. He has corporate experience spanning across sectors like process industry, engineering, pharmaceuticals, FMCG and hotels. He has held leadership positions in companies overseas as well as in India.
Mr. Raman attended IIT Delhi as a National Science Talent Scholar and is a rank holder and recipient of Gold Medal in Labour Economics at XLRI-Jamshedpur.
His areas of interest include Mergers and Acquisitions, Brand Building, Human Resource and Business Strategy.

Students Induction Programme for the First Year Students enters Day Three

sip The First Session of Day Three was facilitated by Dr. Rameela Shekhar, Mental Health Professional & Trainer at Manashanthi Counselling, Research & Training Centre. She spoke on the topic “Mental Health, An Important Component of Life”.
Being a student is stressful, but trying to juggle school work and other responsibilities while experiencing mental illness can make it even harder. Many students feel afraid when first recognizing a mental health issue within them, as they fail to figure out where it came from. Dr. Rameela counseled the students on how to overcome stress and mental health issues.
Prof. Vaishak N.L., Dept. of Mechanical Engineering & Controller of Examinations, gave insights on the Scheme, Regulations and Examinations for the students. He gave a clear picture of Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) calculations, Promotion Criteria, and Award of Degree and so on. He explained the process involving Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and Semester End Examination (SEE) and also the NBA terminology.
Lastly, the Sahyadri Toastmasters Club members conducted a lively session in which the students took part actively. Sahyadri Toastmasters Club has been in motion since 2018 and there's been no turning back since then.

Bridge Course for the New Entrants to MBA Batch 2020 held at the Campus

bridge-course Bridge Course for the new entrants to MBA Batch 2020 has been planned during 16-22 Dec’2020 with various sessions from In-house faculty and Industry.
Day One – 16.12.2020
Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director–MBA encouraged students to navigate the institution Website and stimulated them to focus on their goals as there are enormous opportunities at Sahyadri including internships at In-house industries. She advised the students to make use of opportunities and learn every day.
Prof. Ramesh K.G., Dean-Strategic Planning addressed the students and shared the importance to learn, unlearn and re-learn as they have just stepped into their professional course of MBA.
Dr. Krishna Sudheer, Professor of MBA spoke about Personality Development stating that it’s about building capacities, nurturing talent, enhancing new skill sets, working on weaknesses and transforming them into strengths.
The Resource Person for the Afternoon Sessison was Mr. Damodar Baliga, Chief Manager-Training, Kotak Life. He spoke about lesson in Perseverance & Leadership Skills. He emphasized on “KASH” (Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, Habit).
Mr. Baliga engaged students through an activity-based session.

Certificate Course on “Payroll Administration & HR Analytics” introduced for MBA-HR Students

CyberSafety With the growing need for talents who are ready fit to the industries, MBA Department has introduced Certificate course on “Payroll Administration & HR Analytics” for the MBA - HR Specialization students who are currently in their third semester. This value added course is application-based which mainly focusses on hands-on experience as an HR, scheduled during 14th to 17th Dec’2020.
On completion of the course, students will develop knowledge and skill in Payroll Processing, CTC Computation, Income Tax Calculation, Online IT E-filing, ITR related forms, PF related norms, Profession Tax Slabs, ESI and other concepts related to Payroll & Analytics with increased placement opportunities.
Mr. Ganesh Rao, an MBA (HR) from IMT Gurgaon who has trained more than 6,000 students and working professionals including senior level managers, facilitated the training. Mr. Ganesh is currently handling Payroll for 5 companies and is also a Payroll, Finance and Accounts related Freelance Trainer. He has also received All-rounder Ekalavya Award from a consultancy based in Bengaluru.
