Managing Director of Kahani Designworks, Mumbai addressed the MBA Students & Faculty Members

There were series of sessions lined up with Mr. Raman Madhok during the second day of his visit to Sahyadri. At first, he addressed the students of MBA who are currently in their Day Two of Bridge Course.

During the next session with the representative faculty members from each department of the institute, Mr. Raman urged the team to ponder on - What attracted them to join Sahyadri, What contributions they have made till now and What plans they have for the future growth of the institution. Each faculty gave their inputs and shared their experiences. Faculty members were encouraged to focus on Research and give Seminar presentations for not only their personal growth but for the progress of the institution as well.
During the final session of the day, Mr. Raman Madhok addressed the Administration Staff and Heads of various departments giving opportunities to each one of them to share inputs on Brand building of the institution.

Day Two of Bridge Course for MBA Batch 2020-22

Mr. Raman Madhok, Managing Director of Kahani Designworks, Mumbai addressed the students during the first session of the day. He shared his rich 40 years of experience with the students in terms of HR, Marketing, Finance and General Management. He also clarified general queries of the students during the Q&A session.
The second session was facilitated by Prof. Akshatha P, Dept. of Business Administration-MBA on “Management lessons from Indian Mythology” by sharing anecdotes on Mahabharatha and the failure of SLV3. She also conducted activities where students had to re-launch a failed product.
Next session was conducted by Prof. Manoj Luis Ambrose, GFGC Kavoor. He is a communication coach and soft skills trainer. He conducted activities bringing out the essence of interpersonal skills.

Day Four of Students Induction Programme for the First Year Engineering Students

The First Session of Day Four was facilitated by Dr. Naveen Bappalige, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physics. He spoke about the different types of scholarships available for engineering students and how they can utilize them. He also explained the eligibility criteria for applying for the scholarships. Dr. Prashant Rao, Head, Dept. of Basic Science, gave a brief introduction of all the first year faculty members of engineering.
During the next session, Dr. Ravichandra, Head-Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, gave a clear picture about what the Mechanical Engineering discipline is all about. He also explained about the verticals in Mechanical stream and In-house industries in Sahyadri.
The last session for the day was facilitated by ACP Ranjit Kumar Bandaru, South Subdivision, Mangaluru, who spoke about the drug abuse and its adverse effects. He discussed the laws which are put in place for curbing this rising menace.

MBA Faculty Chairs a Session in International Conference

anaya Dr. Azhar Shaikh, Associate Professor, MBA Dept chaired a session in International Conference on Ethics and Governance in Business (ICEG2020) held on 16 Dec’2020 at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru.
The conference was conducted via Cisco Webex platform. Dr. Azhar Shaikh chaired the Marketing and Corporate Governance track where researchers presented their papers related to the ethical practices and marketing environment in current corporate world.



CSE Faculty delivers Hands-on Session in AICTE Sponsored STTP on "Natural Language Processing"

anaya Dr. Shreyas Rao, Associate Prof., Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering delivered a hands-on session on "Design and Development of Multilingual Chatbot" in AICTE sponsored Short Term Training Program (STTP) on "Natural Language Processing" conducted by Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE.
The session was conducted online through the Microsoft Teams platform and had 60 participants from Sahyadri, MIT and other institutions.

• Chatbot Ecosystem;
• NLP Pipeline for conversational Chatbot;
• Best practices for design of multilingual Chatbot;
• Hands-on session on multilingual healthcare Chatbot development using the Engati tool. The languages demonstrated were English, Kannada and Hindi. Integrations to Gmail API and JSON API were demonstrated; and
• Demo of voice based chatbots in English and Hindi using Google DialogFlow.
