Corporate Social Responsibility: Village Survey

Every individual and institution in the world has some responsibility to fulfill towards society in helping the needy and leading society towards equilibrium and peace, however small the effort may be. The Sahyadri Family in a bid to fulfill its social responsibility has planned to adopt a village. The College’ aim is to help in its overall development in terms of education, environment, and infrastructure and to make it a model village in all aspects. As a first step towards this goal, a team comprising; Dr. U. M. Bhushi, Principal, Dr. Mohandas Bhat, Dean- Academics, Mrs. Shreelatha, AAO, and Mr. Rakshith Shetty, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, visited the village of Meremajal which is situated at a distance of about five kilometres from the college. The team visited two primary schools of the village, an old age home and the gram panchayat of the village guided by Mrs. Vrandha, the Gram Panchayat Chief of Meremajal and Mr. K. K. Poonja, Sevanjali Trust, Farangipet, to scout the possibilities as to how the institution can help in the development of the village.

A rough plan has been drawn up towards this aim and has now been made a part of club activities under the Club Council. We seek that all the members of the Sahyadri Family; faculty and students alike, join hands with us in this noble cause.
