MBA Faculty presents on “Typing Master Pro, a value added course initiated at Sahyadri”

Typing Speed & Accuracy is a Must-Have Hard skill in college students. It drives Performance at Job, to meet Quality & Quantity parameters. Typing Test is the first round of screening process in most of the IT & BPO Firms. Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and St. Agnes Degree College have been working collaboratively in driving quality education. As an initiative to contribute to the students of under graduate colleges, Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration presented on “Typing Master Pro, an effective tool to bridge the gap in Typing Skill” in a National Conference on “Enhancing Professional Competency Through Skill Development – Facing upto Modernity” organized by the Dept. of Commerce, St. Agnes Degree College (Autonomous) in collaboration with Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mangaluru. This presentation threw light on the step by step process of installing the Typing Software, Practice Session, and Retrieval of Typing Certificate which shall act as an evidence to have possessed the required Typing Speed & Accuracy. Students have been apprised of the One-Week Trial Version of the software.

Student Counsellor presents a study Paper at the International Conference

Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor presented a Paper based on a review study module at “Spandana-2018”, an International Social Work Conference on the theme – “From Diversity towards Inclusion: A Social Work Paradigm" organized by School of Social Work, Roshini Nilaya. He undertook a minor study on the methods that are used at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management in order to create a culturally inclusive environment at the campus that in turn will create a learning atmosphere conducive to students who come from different cultural background. The study was presented to the delegates at the conferences with the title - “Review of the methods adopted to create a culturally inclusive learning & teaching environment at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management”.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Allcargo Logistics Ltd

Allcargo Logistics Ltd visited Sahyadri to conduct Campus Recruitment Drive for the engineering students of 2018 batch. A total of 64 students participated in the drive, out of which 30 students got shortlisted & the final results are awaited.

Research Article of the Faculty Member is Published in Elsevier Journal

A research paper titled "Effect of 8 MeV electrons irradiation on carrier transport mechanism in ZnO thin films fabricated by sol-gel spin coating technique" co-authored by Dr. F. Jyothi Serrao, Associate Professor, Department of Physics has been published in the International Journal of ‘Surface & Coatings Technology’, 338 (2018) 96–102 (SCI indexed, Elsevier Journal, having an impact factor of 2.589). The article is about the influence of electron irradiation on the carrier transport mechanism and possible applications of ZnO films in the radiation environment.
