Dr. S Ramakrishna Sharma Chaired a Session & Presented a Paper in an International Conference

Dr. S Ramakrishna Sharma, Adjunct Professor of Indian Scientific Heritage, Dept. of Humanities chaired a session during Three-Day International Conference on Ancient Appled Wisdom for Transformational Leadership held in the University of Delhi. On the Day Two – Dr. Sharma chaired a session in which he also presented his paper titled "AAW for TL: Tantra Perspective". It was well received and drew the attention of international scholars. Dr. K V Joshi, Dept of Sanskrit, SOL, Delhi University is keen on organizing research activities of Dr. Sharma.

Among the noted dignitaries with whom he had interactions, Dr. BVK Sastry deserves special mention. Dr. Sastry is the Founder Chancellor of Yoga-Samskrutam University, Florida, USA. Besides being an erudite scholar of Sanskrit, Vedas and other Traditions he is a computer scientist who has developed TWO unique KEYBOARDS of multi languages, viz. Sanskrit, Kannada and Tulu languages. For the first time in the history of computer his innovation has made it possible to have ENGISH-FREE keyboard which does not use roman script. Further, it enables an English illiterate to type English output using Kannada keys.

Academic Administrative Officer conducts awareness programme on
“Swacchata Manthana”

Ms. Shreelatha U A, Academic Administrative Officer (AAO) conducted an awareness programme for the High School students at Capitanio High School, Nagori and Adarsha Bharathi High School, Bajal. Through this programme, she addressed nearly 370 high school students about “Swacchata Manthana – A workbook to create Awareness about Cleanliness”, a manual created by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru. Swacchata Manthana is a journey of Self-Discovery. This workbook leads the students to explore different dimensions of hygiene and cleanliness, from personal level to national. Through different modules and activities, the students are made to think and act in different scenarios resulting in progressive behavioural change and by the end of the session, the student discovers himself as a responsible citizen of the society contributing towards its wellness. The workbooks were distributed to all the students and Ms. Shreelatha U A guided the students through the workbook and involved them in activities that are designed in the module to build awareness among the young minds about the importance of cleanliness. This two day programme was jointly organized by NSS unit of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management and Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru .

Campus Recruitment Drive – PathFront

Sahyadri Whiz Quiz Prelims at St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru

Sahyadri Whiz Quiz was organized at St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru by the Dept. of Business Administration. Dr. Rashmi Kodikal, Prof. Ramesh K G, Prof. Deepak Bangera, Prof. Gayathri Shetty, Prof. Prajwala Rodrigues and Prof. Ridhvika Shetty with student volunteers executed the College level round. A total of 20 teams of 3 each are selected to participate in the finale round which would be hosted at Sahyadri on 9, March 2018.
