Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organizes an Industry-Oriented Training

An industry-oriented training was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering for Second & Third year students. Mr. S M Sunder, CEO, Calipers Engineering and Lab Pvt Ltd gave an overview of various courses that would be floated by Calipers and called on students to participate in the activities initiated by the company as it would help them in enhancing the necessary skills. Further, he enlightened the students on the importance of design in product manufacturing. Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal, Prof. Mahesh B Davanagere, HOD, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering & Prof. Ravichandra graced the occassion.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in association with All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi will be conducting Management Aptitude Test (MAT), paper based exam for admission to MBA and allied programmes. The exam will be conducted in the morning from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. 468 students from different parts of Karnataka & Kerala will be taking part in this exam.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardized test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. Any B-School - national or international can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. The largest test of its kind in the nation, MAT is the passport for many aspiring candidates to over 600 B-Schools across India.

1. Short Term Course on ANALOG IC Design organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
A short term course on “ANALOG IC Design -Circuit and Layout Design Methodologies (Bridging Concepts to Practice)” using Cadence Design Flow is being organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering for faculty and students during 05th February 2018 to 9th February 2018. This course is designed to provide deeper insights into analog circuit design and layout concepts. The programme will provide working environment in analog domain prevailing in the industry for participants. The course is structured to progressively build the concepts with a kick start on functional blocks such as current mirrors, repeaters, operational amplifiers & delivers deep insights on characterization. It would also benefit the participants to fine tune their skill & explore the opportunities in analog circuit & layout design more effectively through mini projects, projects, research activities & comprehensive skill development to boost the employment in core semiconductor industry. The course also caters to the needs of research scholars pursuing their research in custom IC Design/Analog circuit and Layout.

2. Mindtree Limited is visiting Sahyadri on the 5th of February, 2018 to conduct Campus Recruitment drive for the 2018 batch of Engineering Students.
