CTO of Pratian Technologies visits Sahyadri to sign an MOU on Sahyadri-Pratian Innovation Ecosystem CTO of Pratian Technologies visits Sahyadri to sign an MOU on Sahyadri-Pratian Innovation Ecosystem Mr. Krishna Kumar, Chief Technology Officer of Pratian Technologies visited Sahyadri and interacted with Students, Faculty and Management. He presented on the Pratian Global Innovation (PGI) Lab which would be set up in the Campus and said that Sahyadri is going to pioneer as the Innovation Centre. Highlighting the current Education System he said that Education is now going to be inter-disciplinary and it is no more about the degree but about imparting skills. He also brought to light the emergence of online universities. He highlighted the efforts of Pratian in creating pool of Talents to meet the need of Employability, Deployability and Billability and thereby overcome these challenges. He further clarified that the Pratian Ecosystem includes Learning Skills, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He concluded stating that each one has infinite potential in them and urged the faculty and students to choose from the various natural abilities and further collaborate with PGI Ecosystem which intends to set up Development Labs, R&D Labs and Entrepreneurship Cell at Sahyadri.

IMA organized Floodlight Cricket Tournament at Sahyadri River-Side Cricket Stadium The Mangaluru branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) has organized a floodlight cricket tournament at Sahyadri River-Side Cricket Stadium. Pro Vice-Chancellor of Nitte University Dr. M Shantharam Shetty inaugurated the tournament. The tournament saw participation from six teams. ‘Hansi's Hurricanes’ emerged as the Winner and ‘Pavan's Panthers’ were the Runners-Up. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman of Bhandary Foundation was the Guest during the Valedictory Ceremony and distributed the Trophy and Cash Prize to the Winners.

Students and Staff offer Shramadhan at Polali Temple Students and Staff offer Shramadhan at Polali Temple The students and staff of Sahyadri participated in the Shramadhan at Polali Rajarajeshwari Temple as of part of Sahyadri NSS Unit community service programme. More than 40 students and Staff volunteers engaged themselves in clearing out the debris from the temple’s construction site and cleaned the surroundings of the temple premises. The volunteers involved themselves enthusiastically in the service. Mr. Devdas Hegde, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation and Ms. Shreelatha U A, NSS Programme Coordinator & Academic Administrative Officer coordinated the programme. The temple management and the general public were pleased by the volunteering efforts at the temple premises.

Sahyadrians attend Three-Day Orientation Course in Value Education Sahyadrians attend Three-Day Orientation Course in Value Education A Three-Day Orientation Course in Value Education was organized at Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education (RIMSE), Mysore. A total of 29 Sahyadrians comprising of teaching and non-teaching staff attended this programme.

Day One started with a session “Siachen Glacier – Past, Present and Future” by Col. Mahendra Babu. He spoke about the unforgiving Siachen Glacier and the life of Indian soldiers who are defending the world's most dangerous battlefield to save our Motherland. The second session was by Dr. K. Anantharamu on “Values of Life”. He explained the topic by giving the fittest illustrations and by narration of short stories.

The afternoon session was on the topic “Yogic Walk towards Total Wellness”, by Dr. Raghavendra Pai. Dr. Pai gave a glimpse on how to keep oneself well and fit by doing Yoga. Post this; there was a tour of the campus, after which short films were shown on the life of two renowned personalities. The moral imparted through these films is how to keep moving forward relentlessly even in extremely trying times.

On Day Two there was a rejuvenating session on “How to Face Challenges in Life” by Sri Subramanyam. He spoke on how to face various challenges that life throws in our path. Only when we bravely face them it can change our life. Next, was a session on “Leadership Qualities” by Sri D.T. Ramanujam. This session was a stress buster with a touch of humour. He explained about the inherent attributes that make great leaders. The afternoon session was on the topic “Constitutional Values” by Prof. Suresh Kumar. This was an eye-opener for those who have very little or no knowledge on the topic.

Day Three started with the visit to RIMSE’s gigantic library and museum of international acclaim. The museum showcases the multicultural offerings of our dynamic country. The programme was concluded with a formal valedictory function. The participants shared their experiences at RIMSE. On the whole this programme was a cultural journey of Indian core values like Constitutional values and Democracy, Yoga, Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, Atithi Devo Bhava and Spiritual Path.

Campus Recruited Drive- Subex

Campus Recruited Drive- Subex Subex conducted a Recruitment Drive at Sahyadri for Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. A total of 173 students from various colleges in Mangaluru, participated in the recruitment drive. The final results are awaited.



Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal and Professor in Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering is an academician with overall 36 years of teaching experience along with 19 years of research and 29 years of Administrative Experience. He is presently the Academic Senate member of VTU and Chairman of BOS in E&C/TC board of VTU. He is also a member of COMEDK Executive council. He is a member of IEEE, IETE and Life member of ISTE. He is a reviewer of reputed National and International journals. Govt.of Karnataka recognized his research work and sponsored his visit to the IEEE international conference ISPACS-2000 held at Honolulu, USA. He was a principal coordinator for AICTE projects grants through AICTE sponsored MODROBS project.

Mentees Details
• Adarsh S Pakkala is from Mangaluru. He pursued his SSLC from Pragathi High School Kukkaje and PUC from Vivekananda P U College, Puttur. He is a Yakshagana Artist, he has won 1st prize in singing at District level at Prathibha Karanji programme. He was also awarded the Yaksha Sindhu award from District Chutuku Sahithya Sammelana. He attended events at NITK and won second place in Line Follower Robo race. He aspires to make a name for himself in cultural field.
• Lanlyn D’Souza is from Mangaluru. He has done his SSLC from Milagres High School and PUC from St. Aloysious P U College. His hobbies are singing & reading books. He participated in the events at IIT Mandi & IIT Khargapur and won 1st place in Hurdle Rush at IIT Mandi. He aspires to clear UPSC exam and serve the nation.
• Savy Gangamma A N is from Kodagu. She pursued her SSLC from St. Joseph’s Girl’s High school Madikeri and PUC from St. Joseph’s PU College. Her hobbies are singing and gardening. She has attended events at IIT Mandi & NIT Hameerpur and won 1st place at Robotics Hammer at IIT Mandi. She aspires to join a core engineering company.
• Deeksha TR is from Mangaluru. She pursued her SSLC from St. Ann’s Girls High School PUC from Sharada P U College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are Dancing & Drawing. She participated in Hurdle Hunter at NIT-Jamshadpur event and their team won best innovation award. Her aspiration is to pursue her higher study from abroad.
• Ramya is from Mangaluru. She did her SSLC from Holy Spirit English Medium School Mukka and PUC from St. Aloysius P U College. Her hobbies are listening to music and painting. She participated in events at IIT Kharagpur, IIT Mandi and Thapar University Punjab. She won 1st Prize in Hurdle Rush event at IIT Mandi and Hydrolic Arm at Thapar University. She aspires to be a Music Composer.
• Shreesha P U is from Mangaluru. He pursued his SSLC from Navachethana English Medium School, Neermarga and PUC from Canara P U College, Mangaluru. His hobby is share market observation. He aspires to be a Good Lecturer.
