LIVE Streaming of Union Budget 2019

MBA Department had arranged for the LIVE streaming of Union Budget-2019. Faculty from various departments viewed the Budget Presentation and made notes for further analysis.

MBA Faculty invited to Judge an event at “LABYRINTH” in Canara College, Mangaluru

LABYRINTH is a National Level Under-Graduate Inter-Collegiate Commerce & Management Fest organized by Canara College, Mangaluru. Prof. Sushma V was invited to Judge an event related to Rural Marketing. Post the event, Prof. Sushma V addressed the participants and gave inputs on the Challenges in Rural Marketing and the measures that can be adopted to overcome it.

Department: Electronics and Communication Engineering
Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. Gurusiddayya Hiremath is having 10 years of experience which includes both teaching and industry. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD from VTU, Belagavi. His research area includes Image Processing, Machine Learning and Embedded system design.

Mentee Details:
• Anargya Kinila from Melkar, completed SSLC from Jaycees English Medium School, Vittal and PUC in Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. He loves to sing and listen to classical songs and also interested in sports. He wants to become an entrepreneur.
• Chethana Kamath from Chikmagaluru studied in Mountain View High School Chikmagaluru. He completed PUC in Canara PU College. Hobbies are dancing, painting, reading novels. Sports achievement includes 100mts and 200mts relay, High Jump, Throw ball champion in Taluk level.
• Jeevan K is from Surathkal. He studied in S.M.E.M.S, Surathkal and did his PUC from Govinda Dasa PU College, Surathkal. His hobbies include making projects, coding, and sports. He aspires to work in R&D field.
• Shibani B Kunder is from Mangaluru. He pursued high school from St. Gerosa High School Mangaluru and did her PUC in Canara PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are dancing, photography and sketching. She aspires to become an entrepreneur and pursue her passion in photography.
• Shreya Shetty is from Puttur. She pursued high school from Bethany English Medium High School, Puttur and PUC in Ambika Padavi Poorva Vidhyalaya, Puttur. She loves to hear songs and also interested in sports. She wants to become an entrepreneur.
• Suhan SK is from Belthangadi. He pursued high school from St. Mary's English Medium School Laila Belthangadi. He did his PUC Education in Vani PU College Halekote Belthangadi. His hobbies are reading novels, gardening, listening songs etc. He is interested in collecting coins of different countries, currencies and stamps as well. His aim is to become a successful Engineer and lead a wonderful and adventurous life. He is good at singing and dancing.
• Vignesh is from Vittal. He studied SSLC in Sathya Sai Loka Seva High School, Alike and PUC in Janatha PU College Adyanadka. His hobbies are drawing and reading books. His aim is to reach the level at which he can build his own electronic circuits.
• Vinay Kumar is from Surathkal. He pursued his high school from S.M.E.M.S Surathkal, and completed his PUC in Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are sketching, making projects and coding. He aspires to join navy force.

Department: Computer Science & Engineering
Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. Vijay C.P, has 7 years of teaching experience. He has completed his M.Tech from Sahyadri with specialization in Computer Science and Engineering, B.E from B.G.S.I.T B.G. Nagar, Mandya. His areas of Interest are Cybersecurity and Machine learning. He is an author of various research articles published in reputed Journals. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. in VTU, Belagavi.

Introduction of the Mentees:
• Rithvika is from Mangaluru. She completed her PUC in Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. She has completed her schooling in St. Agnes Girls School Mangaluru. Her hobbies are drawing and listening to music. Her goal is to become a successful engineer and work in a reputed IT company.
• Amogh is from Kerala (Kumble). He pursued his high school from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ekkur; did his PUC in Sharada PU College. His hobbies are drawing, singing, dancing and visiting new places. Apart from studies he has bagged many prizes in various competitions like chess, football and cricket. His aim in life is to become a successful engineer.
• Keerthesh is from Melkar. He did his high school in Sri Sharada High school Panemangalore then he completed his PUC in SVS College Bantwal. His hobbies are playing cricket, Kabaddi and watching movies. His area of interest is software developing and he aspires to get placed in a reputed MNC.
• S Shyam Kumar is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school at St. Aloysius High School and PUC in Sharada PU College. His hobbies are playing cricket, sketching and clay modelling. He has also participated till district level in drawing competition. His other interests are related to science models. His goal is to make APPS and websites and get a well paid job as an Engineer.
• Kavyashree is from Bantwal. She has completed her schooling in S L N P Vidyalay Panemangalore and her PUC course in computer science from SVS PU College Bantwal. She has a special interest in computer technology and joined Sahyadri to realize her dreams and to become a professional engineer.
• Varna Shree Rachith S is from Hyderabad. He pursued his high school from Kendriya Vidyalaya and PUC from Canara PU College. His hobbies are playing Badminton, Chess, painting and gaming. He was a part of Scouts and Guides. He now belongs to the Team Challengers. He won second prize in state level quiz competition, participated in state level chess competition, won second prize in college level badminton championship. His goal is to contribute to the society.
• Neeraj Shetty is from Mangaluru. He has completed his schooling in Mangala high school and did his PUC in Padua PU College, Nanthoor. His hobbies include playing Badminton and listening to songs. He loves to travel and explore new places. He was a part of scouts and guides for 5 years. He wants to be placed in a good IT company.

Department: Mechanical Engineering
Mentor Details:
Prof. Pavitra Ajagol has 5 and half years of teaching and two years of research experience. He has obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Technology in Product Design and Manufacturing from VTU. He is currently pursuing her PhD. Active in professional bodies like Indian Society for Technical Education and Member of Universal Association of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineers (UAMAE). His fields of interests are Composite materials like PMC, MMC and tribology and material characterization.

Mentee Details:
• Dheeshith C P is from Kannur Kerala. He pursued his high school from Oooehs Al Ain Abu Dhabi UAE and PUC from IGPS Kannur. He participated in Incredible India dance fest and won 1st Prize, and he participated in cultural activities in school and won many prizes. He is also interested in playing cricket, football and basketball. His aspiration is to work in Mercedes.
• Rahul is from Mangaluru, He did his 10th and PUC from Capitanio High School Mangaluru. He participated in speech competition and won prizes, he got prizes in skit and project exhibition. He is also interested in playing cricket, watching movies and listening to music. His ambition is to become a Design Engineer.
• Akash G K is from Hosabettu post, Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from Popular Bunts Bajpe, Mangaluru and PU studies from SDPT Kateel. His hobbies are playing Cricket, watching TV. He is good in drawing. His aspiration is to become a skilled Marine Engineer.
• Srithej Prasad is from Kasaragod Kerala. He pursued his high school from SSRVM Mudipu and his PUC from VC PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are playing cricket. He is also interested in Quiz and Drawing. His ambition is to become a Design Engineer.
• Sourav Raykar is from Sirsi Uttarakannada. He pursued his high school from Don Bosco High School Sirsi and his PUC from MES Chaitanya PU College Sirsi. His hobbies are playing Volleyball and Cricket. He is a state level volleyball player. His aspiration is to become a Marine Engineer.
• Kiran Raj Gatti is from Konaje. He pursued his high school from Govt. High School Konaje and his PUC from Canara PU College Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing Volleyball, Kabaddi and Cricket. He got prize in district level Drama. His aspiration is to work in a Core Mechanical field.
• Nandan Hegde is from Mangaluru He pursued his high school from St. Aloysius College and his PUC from Canara PU College Mangaluru. His hobbies are collecting stamps and coins he is good in drawing. His aspiration is to work in DRDO.
• Yashash Shettigar is from Mangaluru and pursued his high school from Amrita Vidyalayam Boloor Mangaluru. His hobbies include Reading Quiz books, playing Cricket etc. His aspiration is to work in a reputed automobile company.
