Dr. Shankara K Prasad is currently the Founder and Managing Trustee of Sampoorna Swaraj Foundation. Dr. Prasad’s educational background includes an M.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from State University of New York, Stony Brook, New York. He is the architect of the Work Flow Automation software solution for Indian Government organizations, which is specifically developed to make Indian government organizations enabled and paperless. Dr. Prasad has spent more than 25 years running a software company as well as working in the computer chip manufacturing industry working for major semiconductor companies including Intel, California, Cypress Semiconductor, California, Robert Bosch, Germany and most recently as Vice President of Engineering & Technology Development at CS2 in Belgium. Dr. Prasad has travelled and consulted more than 30 companies in 17 countries including Brazil, Switzerland, Singapore, and Italy. Dr. Prasad was awarded the 1998 IEEE award for “Major Educational Innovation” for innovation in the delivery methods of engineering education. He was adjunct professor at California State University, San Jose and Advisor to Center for Electronics Development & Technology, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Dr. U. Chandrasekhar is currently the pro Vice Chancellor of Veltech University. His areas of interest are design, analysis, testing and project management of aero gas turbine projects. He received his Ph.D for his research in additive manufacturing carried out at DRDO. He also received a Gold Medal from former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam for his academic achievements. He received commendation medal from the Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister in recognition of his contributions to rapid manufacturing of complex aeronautical systems.
Mr. Veerabhadra Yadwad completed his B.E from UBDTCE, Davangere. He is the Product Manager, Environmental & Analytical Business Unit in Yokogawa India Limited. He worked for Global Virtual Promotional activities with objective of sharing knowledge. He has conducted knowledge Integration Programmes across globe including Netherlands, Singapore, Japan, USA, South Africa, Thailand, Bangladesh and across India at various industries. Dr. Veerabhadra Yadwad will give a talk on “IOT Applications” during Sahyadri Conclave.
Dr. Nataraja Karaba N is a Professor in the Department of Crop Physiology, University of Agricultural Science, GKVK. Dr. Karaba has received BOYSCAST Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, to visit Department of Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology, Yale University, USA. He is the recipient of NAMASTE (Networking and Mobility Actions for Sustainable Technology and Environment in India) award sponsored by the European Union under Erasmus Mundus Programme. Dr. Karaba will be delivering a talk on “Food Security in India” during the conclave.
Dr. K. Chidananda Gowda is the former Vice-Chancellor of the Kuvempu University, Karnataka, India. He has received Doctoral degree in the field of Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in the year 1979. Prof. K Chidananda has done two Post-Doctoral Researches, one at NASA, New York, USA and another at INRIA, Paris, France. He is a recipient of High Level Research Fellowship of French Ministry of Foreign Affairs at INRIA, Rocquencourt, France and he has also been a visiting Professor to Laboratoire de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique, Rocquencourt, France. He will engage a technical session during the Conclave.
Mr. Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma, Founder, Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma Foundation for Music is a Mridangist. He has graduated with Bachelor of Arts in music. He is a recipient of “Best Mridangam Artist” by Gayana Samaja. He received “Laya Kala Prathibhamani” title, Vidwan H. Puttachar Memorial award by Percussive Arts Centre and “Asthana Vidwan” of Sri Kanchi Mutt at Sri Kanchi Mutt. He will be delivering a talk during Sahyadri Conclave.
Dr. Krishna Venkataram is a Professor & Head, Mechanical Engineering, PES, Bengaluru. Dr. V. Krishna has obtained his doctoral degree from Birla Institute of Technology, MESRA, Ranchi. He is also the “Asthana Vidwan” of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Mutt. He is one of the members of the Laya Lahari Percussion Ensemble founded by Violin Maestro Anoor Ramakrishna and Ghatam Maestro Bangalore K. Venkataram. He is presently the Executive Director of Percussive Arts Centre, Bengaluru. He will be delivering a talk in a technical session during Sahyadri Conclave.
Dr. Hari Krishna Maram is the Chairman, Imperial College of Business Studies, Bangalore. Dr. Hari Krishna Maram received his Ph.D. (Marketing) in “Small Sachet Innovation” in the year 2008. The Government of India has recognized his work in the field of management education from last 22 years and he has been a recipient of several awards like the Prestigious Knightwood from UK, “Samaja Seva Bhushan” from Subharam Trust. He has worked in various capacities like Governing Council Member of All India Management Association (AIMA) & Executive Board Member of National Institute of Personal Management (NIPM) Karnataka Chapter. He will be addressing the students during the conclave.
Mr. Prakash Bettadapur, Senior Advisor at Dhiomics Analytics Private Limited graduated from Stanford University with Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He studied computer science from Universiy of Alberta Canada; computing systems from Indian Institute of Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology. He is an innovator and has received nine patents. Mr. Prakash has built next gen Cisco IOS platform (called IOS-XE) and several application platforms. His areas include Cloud Computing, Embedded Systems and Networks Management. He will be delivering a talk in a technical session during Sahyadri Conclave.
Dr. Gopalkrishna Hegde, Professor, Centre for Nano Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, received his Ph.D. in Physics. He was a visiting Professor in the FEMTO-ST Institute, Université de Franche-Comté, France; Univ. of Rennes France; visiting scientist Univ. of California, LA USA and La Trobe University Australia, NTU Singapore. His current research interests are in the areas of photonics, optical sensors, optical flow visualization, biophotonics, nanofabrication and microfluidics. Dr. Hegde will be delivering a talk in a technical session during Sahyadri Conclave.
Mr. B. A. Hasanabba is the former Member of Legislative Council. He started his career as a high school teacher in Madikeri, Coorg. He then did his post graduation in Mathematics at Central College Bangalore and also holds LLB degree. He worked as Dist Gen. Secretary, State Gen. Secretary and Spokesperson of the Congress Party. Sri S.M. Krishna, the then Chief Minister nominated him as an MLC in 2002. He switched to social life and then effectively became an active member of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. His passion towards teaching Mathematics as fun has created interest in the weak and math phobia students to learn mathematics effectively.
Prof. Uma Maheshwar Rao Karanam is currently the Director of National Institute of Technology, Karnataka. He obtained his Ph.D in the field of Rock Mechanics from IIT Kharagpur. His research interests include rock mechanics. Prof. Rao has obtained INSA-KOSEF (Korea Science and Engineering Foundation) award and under this fellowship programme he worked at Korea Institute of Geo-Scieces and Mineral Resources during 2003-04. Later he was also awarded Erudite fellowship from KIGAM (South Korea) in the year 2005. And he was appointed as a visiting professor at the Chonnam National University (CNU), Gwangju, South Korea in the year 2008. He served as a Professor in the Department of Energy Resources Engineering at CNU during 2008-09. Later in the year 2015, he was appointed as a visiting professor in the University of British Columbia (UBC), Okanagon campus by the school of Mechanical engineering.
