Manager-Decathlon visits Sahyadri

Mr. Jithesh Rai, Manager-Decathlon, visited Sahyadri on 10th Jan'20. Mr. Rai expressed his interest to associate and participate in the upcoming mega event ‘Sahyadri 10K Run’. He appreciated the initiatives taken at Sahyadri which helps in overall personality and knowledge improvement of students.

Decathlon is a French Sporting Goods retailer. With over 1,500 stores in 49 countries, it is the largest sporting goods retailer in the world. Founded by Michel Leclercq in 1976, it first started in Lille, France. Decathlon Group also owns over 20 brands with research and development facilities all over France to develop the latest innovative designs, registering up to 40 patents per year.

Student of Second Year Computer Science & Engineering gets selected as GirlScript Chapter Leader for Mangaluru

Vishwa Konkani Scholar Mr. Vineet Nayak S, a student of 2nd Year Computer Science & Engineering gets selected as GirlScript Chapter Leader for Mangaluru for a period of one year. This role was open for the college students of Mangaluru.

GirlScript Foundation is a Section-8 Non-profit Organization to support women in technology, registered under the Govt. of India in 2017. It is open to all organizations and supports beginners in technology and programming. GirlScript supports diversity in tech by reserving 50% seats for women and LGBTQ community in all its programs worldwide. It aims to become the world's biggest tech community for learning technical skills and getting opportunities around the globe. It ensures 60% of women participation in every meet-up, workshops and conferences.

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. S V Prasad obtained his Engineering degree from KVG College of Engineering, Sullia in the year 2008 and his M.Tech degree in Digital Electronics and Communication from KVGCE, Sullia in the year 2012. His Research Interest is Low Power, High Speed VLSI Design. He has published five Research Papers in international journals. He has presented more than 5 research topics in various national/international conferences. Presently, he is carrying out research work in the area of VLSI at REVA University, Bengaluru. He has a teaching experience of 8 years.
Introduction of the Mentees:
• Sajna N is from Agumbe. She pursued her schooling from Annapoorna Vidya Mandir, Agumbe and PUC from SRPU College, Hebri. Her hobbies are playing volleyball and dancing.

• Muzzammil Mohammad is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from International Indian School, Jeddah, KSA and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are reading novels and playing football. He aspires to work with SAP.

• Sushanth Maroli is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling and PUC from Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangaluru. His hobbies are story writing and poetry. He has participated and won many prizes in Karate competitions. He aspires to become a successful entrepreneur.

• Anvik K is from Ujire. He pursued his schooling from SDM School and PUC from SDM PU College, Ujire. His hobbies are listening to music and pencil sketching. He aspires to become a successful entrepreneur.

• Prathap S Shetty is from Kundapur. He pursued his schooling from Govt High School, Basrur and PUC from PPC College, Udupi. His hobbies are playing outdoor games. He aspires to become an entrepreneur in the field of electronics.

• Bhupender Singh Beniwal is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Sharada Vidyalaya and PUC from Expert PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are participating in sports events. He aspires to work with companies like SAP Labs, Tejas Networks, IBM etc.
