Press Meet on “Sahyadri 10K Run Mangaluru” held at The Ocean Pearl Inn, Mangaluru

The Press Meet to promote the maiden edition “Sahyadri 10K Run” was held at The Ocean Pearl Inn, Bejai-Kapikad Road, Mangaluru, on 29th Jan’2020.

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, President-Bhandary Foundation highlighted the importance of having such an event to create a healthy atmosphere and also create awareness.

Around 8,000 athletes and fitness enthusiasts are expected to take part in the event that is being held under the theme “Run for Clean, Green Fit Mangaluru”, said Mr. Bhandary, who is also the President of DKAA. He gave details of the various categories of the 10K Run and went on to say attractive prizes and benefits are involved with generous sponsors too willing to sponsor the gigantic event. He said Mr. Gurukiran, a noted music director is the Brand Ambassador for the event. Jerseys were also brought for the event with the committee members.

Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. Janardhana D R has 12 years of teaching experience. He pursued his Engineering and M.Tech from VTU, Belagavi. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. at VTU in the field of Internet of Things (IoT). He is the Life Member of CSI and ISTE. His fields of interests are IoT Security, Machine Learning and Data Science.

• Anmol R Vernekar is from Karwar. He pursued his schooling from Nirmala Rani High School and PUC from Government PU College, Karwar. His hobbies are singing playing musical instruments and poster making. He aspires to become a Designer in the field of fashion and architecture. He wants to become an Ethical Hacker and Cyber Security expert.

• Karthik Narayana V is from Kasaragod. He pursued his schooling from Vittal Jaycees English Medium School and PUC from Vivekananda PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are photography and gaming. He is very affable and loves being friendly with all. He aspires to become Pilot in the Indian Air Force.

• Srikanth is from Udupi. He pursued his schooling from GHS and PUC from SDPT PU College, Udupi. His hobbies are paying cricket & volleyball and reading comics. He aspires to become a Software Engineer in IBM. Besides, he wants to become Ethical Hacker too.

• Rithika Shetty is from Kundapur. She pursued her schooling from Sri Venkataramana English High School and PUC from RNS PU College, Kundapur. Her hobbies are coin collecting and reading story books. She aspires to become an Entrepreneur. She wants to get placed in Google.

• Milind Jeevan Rai is from Kerala. He pursued his schooling from Sharada Vidyanikethan and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are Bot making and playing cricket. He wishes to become a part of Infosys in the Software field.

• Preetham is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Narayana Guru School and PUC from Canara PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing volleyball. He aspires to become a Software Developer at Microsoft.

• Gagan Dhruva M is from Bengaluru. He pursued his schooling from St. Miras High School, Bengaluru and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are photography, video editing and music composing. He wants to give something new to the world. He wants to join Indian Cyber Security Lab.

• National Board of Accreditation (NBA) Expert Team is scheduled to visit our institution during 31st Jan to 2nd Feb, 2020 for the accreditation process of five UG Programmes - Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Science & Engineering and Civil Engineering.

• Amazon India is visiting Sahyadri on 31st Jan' 2020 to conduct a Campus Recruitment Drive for the students of all branches of engineering of 2020 outgoing batch. They are hiring Virtual Customer Service Associates (Voice Process) (Work from home - Full-time job) at Mangalore.
