Caliper Increases Tally of "Make In India" Projects
Govt of India's push for Self-reliance opens several opportunities to domestic industries in unknown territory. Sahyadri's In-house industries combined with the engineering knowledge of the faculty and innovative participation of our energetic aspiring students, has picked up challenging import substitution projects.
Caliper, an In-house Start-up industry which has already picked up several "Make In India" projects, increased its tally. Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) - Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) has awarded Caliper with two more "Make In India" projects for Defence Applications, increasing BEML's Make In India projects tally with Caliper to Eight.
It's great time ahead for Mechanical Engineering students to have a choice of projects in their areas of interest.

MBAs Undergo Value Added Course on "Business Analytics with IBM SPSS"
Students of First Year MBA are currently undergoing a 16 Days Value Added Course on "Business Analytics Course with IBM SPSS". The course is conducted section wise and has become a must in the tool kit of MBAs as the ability to derive business intelligence from big data is now a highly marketable skill.
This course will help students to do statistical analysis using IBM SPSS. The training is facilitated by Prof. H.V. Dinesh Prasad and Ms. Amitha Dinesh Prasad.

Session on Leadership for the First Year Students of Young Leadership Program
The Young Leadership Program (YLP) in association with the Centre for Social Innovation, Sahyadri (CSIS) hosted a Webinar on 18th July'2020 which was facilitated by Mr. Adhikar Naidu, Co-Founder, Startupreneur.
The students' part of the YLP took part in this Webinar in large numbers.
Mr. Adhikar Naidu is a graduate in Digital Innovation and Management from the London School of Economics and has previously worked in Goldman Sachs, investing in early stage start-ups. Currently, Mr. Naidu is the Co-Founder of the Startupreneur which is a venture that is fostering entrepreneurship and innovation by closely working with Educational Institutions, Incubators, Corporates and Government Organisations across the globe.
Mr. Adhikar dealt with the topic of Leadership in which he explained in graphic detail the core concepts to keep in mind while dealing with leadership ranging from 'Credibility' to 'Empathy' through a presentation. Post this, the students had an interactive session and the speaker addressed all their queries.
Campus Recruitment Drive- Extramarks Education India Pvt. Ltd.
Extramarks Education India Pvt. Ltd. conducted the first round (Aptitude Test) of Virtual Campus Recruitment Drive for the Engineering students of all branches from the 2020 outgoing batch. This hiring is for the role of Business Development Executive. The candidates will be working remotely (i.e. work from home) till further notification, due to the Covid-19 issue. The Online Aptitude Test would be followed by a virtual Face-to-Face interview. Results of the first round are awaited.

In light of the continued impact of COVID-19 on universities globally, Coursera for Campus is extending the enrolment period to September 30, 2020. This provides an additional 2 months for students and faculty to join the Coursera program and continue to enrol in over 3,800 courses and 400 specializations at no cost. It also brings the enrolment date in line with the overall program end date of September 30, 2020.
