Dept. of Mechanical Engineering conducts DAC meeting

The Department Advisory Committee (DAC) Meeting of the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering was conducted on 18th March’2021. Dr. Ravichandra, Dean IC & Head, presented the observations given by the NBA Expert Committee and briefed the committee on action plans to be made. He also stated the progress of AY 2019-20 highlighting student performance through Result Analysis, MOOC courses, Placements, Entrepreneurial activities, Faculty performance through Research and Publications. The activities that were planned for the next academic year were also discussed with major focus on the progress with regards to autonomy and the new programmes that are being proposed by the department. Dr. Vijay Desai, Professor, NITK Surathkal gave valuable suggestions related to effective implementation of Teaching Learning Process and also appreciated the department for achieving high scores during NBA team visit. Dr. Rekha Bhandarkar, Professor, NMAMIT Nitte, gave insights on effective attainment analysis and motivated the department to organize more activities like webinars that would give more exposure to the students about the relevant industry practices. Prof S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal and Dr. Nalini Rebello, Dean-Academics were present during the meeting.

MBA Faculty, now a recognized Skill Trainer under MSDE & NSDC, GOI - Certified by BRIDGE & MEPSC

BRIDGE (BOSCH Initiative) and Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) conducted a “Train The Trainer” (TTT) program for about 8 hours in a week online. Training was followed by a two phased assessment – One a Theory Assessment and the other a Face2Face Interview.
Prof. Sushma V has successfully completed this Training with 91% scores (‘A’ Grade) and has received an Accredited Certification from MEPSC & Bosch. She is registered as a Certified Skill Trainer under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
Prof. Sushma V can hereafter, be aligned with the Skill Development training projects of Government and other agencies. BRIDGE - an initiative of Bosch India Foundation initiated this programme for present and potential trainers. This is an important initiative in view of National Education Policy to be implemented from 2022 session.

Placement and Training - Google Code Jam
