Technical talk on Optimization Techniques
Prof. Srinivas Reddy, Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, RLJIT, Doddaballapur, delivered a technical talk on “Optimization Techniques” for the students of Semester VI CSE/ISE. He stressed the importance of Optimization for day-to-day applications by taking real-life examples. He said that scientific approaches of Operations Research along with experience may help managers to take better decisions so that productivity of the industry might be influenced.

‘ARENA 2014’
Mr. Nishith J. Shetty, International Athlete, inaugurated “Arena 2014” the annual athletic meet of Sahyadri college of Engineering & Management and declared the meet open. In his inaugural address, he stressed on the importance of sports in daily life and wished the students a bright future. A March Past by the engineering students was the highlight of the inaugural session. The first year, Section E, won the first place in the March Past. The second place was bagged by the first year Section J while the third prize went to second year of the Department of Civil Engineering. The prize winners of the various events were honoured on the occasion. Dr. A .J. Antony, Vice Principal, presented a memento to Mr. Nishith J. Shetty as a token of appreciation from the college.

Students win in Senitia-2014
Students of the college took part in 'Sentia-2014’, an inter-collegiate cultural competition held at Mangalore Institute of Technology & Management, Mijar, Mangalore. Thirty colleges participated in the fest. Sushmitha won the First Place in Pencil Sketching and Sonali & Team won the Second place in the Dance Competition. The team members are: Sonali Rao, Pooja S., Sushmitha Rao, Shreeja Shetty, Shefali Kamath, Aishwarya Rao, Saudamini Rao, Medini Bhat, and Joylene.
It’s curtains on Sur Sangam’14
Sur Sangam ’14; a festival of music by the students concluded with western singing. Events such as Light music, Carnatic Music, Filmy songs and Western Music were held and filled the atmosphere with the sound of music reverberating through the Campus. Around fifty students and nearly ten faculty members participated in the event.
Sur Sangam - 2014 saw enthusiastic student participation in Classical music and Western music, which provided an opportunity for the undergraduate students to showcase their talents. Mr. Vidyashanker, Mr. Varun, Mr. Shreyas Hebbar, Ms. Malavika, Ms. Suraksha, Ms. Prathiksha, Ms. Ashwathi, Mr. Sushanth Suvarna and Mr. Vikshith Ramesh, Mr. Nachiketh, Mr. Roysten, Mr. Shelton, Mr. Swaraj, Ms. Suraksha, Ms. Apeksha, Ms. Ria, Mr. Veer Jain, and Mr. Suraj participated and were appreciated by the audience.
Sambrama 2014
Sahyadri college of Engineering and Management is organizing four day summer camp ‘Sumbrama 2014’ for govt. primary school children in Meramajal village as a part of CSR.
The children of three primary schools of Meramajal village are the beneficiaries.
The team comprising of few staff and student volunteers are taking the initiative to organize the camp.
