MOU with R. V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between R. V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru & Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in respect to iSTED project titled - “Entrepreneurship Development in Microgrid for Community Living”.
The Project is aimed at creating entrepreneurial skills, awareness programmes, operations and maintenance of microgrid and services, training technicians in the field, and advanced training for engineers to design microgrids.
Dr. Vishal Samartha invited as a Moderator for the National Conference at Milagres College, Mangaluru
Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director, Department of Business Administration was invited as a Moderator for SAMANVAY 2017 – Confluence of Thoughts, a One-Day National Conference on “Beyond 2020: A vision for transforming India with a focussed manifesto for change to be Global Leaders” organized by Department of Commerce & Business Management, Milagres College, Mangaluru. She addressed the participants in a Technical Session on “Igniting Mind & Youth – Key Role in Transforming India into an emerging Global Guru”. As a leader herself, she stimulated students to break their comfort zone, step forward and contribute to the development of the nation by joining hands with the Governing Bodies. She awakened the participants to think ahead of stereotypical process and focus on innovating for a better tomorrow. She also re-iterated that India comprises of young population hence we have greater scope in terms of Skill, Knowledge and Ability for contribution in comparison to other nations of the world with aging population. She appreciated the institution for organizing events of such nature that add immense value in grooming youth in the most efficient manner.

8th Edition of “TCS TechBytes” Finals of Regional Round - Mangaluru region
The 8th Edition of “TCS TechBytes”, a state level quiz competition for B.E / B.tech, regional round for Mangaluru region organized by the Board of IT Education Standards (BITES) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Bengaluru was held in Sahyadri Campus. The students from 14 engineering colleges (184 teams) participated in the first round of regional finals. Out of which, 6 teams were selected for the 2nd and the final round of regional finals.

Second Place: Akarsh K S, Jaithirtha, NITK, Surathkal
Third Place: Karan Gupta, Garry Leroy Pinto, St. Joseph, Mangaluru

Fifth Place: Navaneeth Krishna, Rumaan Khalander of 4th CSE, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management
Inauguration of Six-Day Yoga Training Programme organized by Patanjali Yoga Peetha
Inaugural Ceremony of the Six-Day Yoga Training Programme organized under the aegis of Bharat Swabhiman and Patanjali Yoga Peetha in collaboration with Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management was held in the Sahyadri Campus. Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal, Ms. Shreelatha U A, Dr. Jnaneshwar Rao, Mr. M Jagadish Shetty Bejai, Mr. Ragavendra G, Mr. Keshava Marla, Ms. Jayashree Rai, Mr. Pradeep were the guests of the inaugural ceremony. This programme is scheduled for six days from 28th February 2017 at Srishti, Open Auditorium from 5:15 am to 6:45 am.
