Golden Girl – Pavithree B Shetty
Ms. Pavithree B Shetty received 4 Gold Medals & the Certificate of First Rank for her Outstanding Academic achievement during the Annual convocation ceremony of Visvevaraya Technological University (VTU) held at “Jnana Sangama” Campus, Belagavi. Honourable Vice Chancellor of VTU Dr. Karisiddappa presented the prestigious Gold Medals Viz. “PESIT Gold Medal”, “R N Shetty Gold Medal”, “Jyothi Gold Medal”, “VTU Gold Medal” and the Certificate of First Rank. The Chief Guest of the function was Padmashri Dr. Girish Bharadwaj who is popularly known as Sethu Bandhu & Bridge Man of India for building around 127 low cost and eco-friendly bridges in remote villages across India.
Later, Pavithree interacted with the Vice Chancellor Dr. Karisiddappa who has congratulated her for this great achievement and praised Sahyadri for the overall support given to her for accomplishing this feat. Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Member of Academic Senate, VTU & Principal of Sahyadri; Prof. Sudheer Shetty, Dean Examinations; the proud Parents - Mr. Balakrishna Shetty & Mrs. Amitha B. Mr. Arjun Suvarna from the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering from 2019 outgoing batch was recruited by Edureka for the position of 'Software Engineer' with a package of Rs. 5.5 Lakhs per annum, in the recently held Campus Recruitment Drive. Technical Talk on ‘Water Treatment practices using Ultra and Micro filtration’ by the Dept. of Civil Engineering
Department of Civil Engineering in association with SPACE conducted a technical talk on ‘Water Treatment practice using Ultra and Microfiltration’. The resource person of the talk was Mr. Chidanand Bhargav Bharadwaj, Senior Engineer, Process Engineering and Environment, JBF Petrochemicals Ltd., Mangaluru SEZ, Karnataka. In his talk, he highlighted the basic concepts of water treatment and discussed the technical aspects related to membrane filtration. The students of Pre-final year Civil Engineering were a part of this event.

Mr. Prakhyath Rai has pursued B.E from Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru and M.Tech from NMAMIT, Nitte. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD from VTU, Belagavi. He has a total of 3.6 years of teaching experience. His research areas include text mining, knowledge distillation, text denoising, text refinement, data analytics, etc. He has published various research articles in reputed journals.

• Rushali H Shetty is from Kumta. She pursued her high school from B.G.S Central School, Kumta and PUC from Sarswathi PU College, Kumta. Her hobbies are Singing and Drawing. She has participated in technical event at IIT Mandi and won 1st place in Hammer strike in NIT Hamirpur. She aspires to be placed in a renowned firm.
• Glenisha Carol Sequeira is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school from Ladyhill Victoria Girls high school, Mangaluru and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are Singing and listening to music. She aspires to be an entrepreneur.
• Athmi Alva is from Puttur. She pursued her high school from Vivekananda English Medium School, Puttur and PUC from Ambika PU College, Puttur. Her hobbies are travelling and photography. She participated in technical event called TECHSPARDHA-ROBORACE at NIT Khurukshetra, and secured second place. She aspires to become a Software Engineer.
• Nandan is from Shivamogga. He pursued his high school from Sri Adhichunchanagiri high school, Shivamogga and PUC from Vikasa PU College Shivamogga. His hobbies are Drawing and Reading novels. He won 2nd price in 1500m in state level athletic meet 2014-15 held at Chikmagalur.
• Shravika Nempe is from Thirthahalli, Shimoga. She pursued her high school from St Ann’s high school, Mangaluru and PUC from St Agnes PU college, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are designing clothes and singing. She aspires to be a good engineer.
• Thrupthi is from Mangaluru. She pursued her school from Besant English School,Kodialbail, Mangaluru and PUC from Canara Pre University College, Mangaluru. Her Hobbies are Drawing and Gardening. She aspires to become a successful Engineer.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri
Silver Peak Global (SPG) Japan, is visiting Sahyadri to conduct an orientation session for the 72 selected students along with their parents. Mr. Sanju Lokesh, Manager, VP-Operations accompanied by Ms. Baljeet Kaur, Manager-HR would be addressing their parents regarding the job opportunities for Engineers in Japan.
