Extensive Survey Camp for the pre final year Civil Engineering students Extensive Survey Camp for the pre final year Civil Engineering students Students of pre-final year accompanied by faculty of Civil Engineering Department carry out projects at Ishwaramangala, Puttur Taluk. The camp was headed by Mr. Anil Kumar N.S., Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and Assistant Camp Officer Mrs Navyashree B.R., Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering. The projects executed include those of Highway, Water Supply, Old Tank and Tank projects, and Town planning.

Arena 2019, Annual Sahyadri Sports Meet – Winners Arena 2019, Annual Sahyadri Sports Meet – Winners Annual Athletic Meet “Arena 2019” was held in Sahyadri Campus. The Meet was declared open by the chief guest by Mr. Ashton Wikin Coelho, a National Level athlete. Various athletic events and fun games were held after which the winners were felicitated.

1 In the boys section Mr. Dhiraj D. Puthran, Ist Year student of G Section was the winner;
2 In the girls’ section the prize was shared by 3 students:
• Ms. Meghashree B. Semester VI, Computer Science & Engineering;
• Ms. Sushmika P.R. Semester VI, Computer Science & Engineering; and
• Ms. Deeksh B. Semester I, MBA
• Overall championship
1. Boys Section was won by the Department of Mechanical Engineering;
2. Girls section was won by two branches - Physics Cycle;
3. Boys & Girls (combined) was won by Department. of MBA;

1 Boys section was won by the Department of Electronics & Communication;

Sahyadri organizes one day Faculty Development Workshop on Mentoring Skills  Sahyadri organizes one day Faculty Development Workshop on Mentoring Skills  A one day Faculty Development Workshop titled “Understanding the Millennial, Where do we start?” was organised for teaching faculty with a view to equip the faculty with better mentoring skills so as to enable them to have better connect with students. The resource persons for the workshop are two influential icons in the field of psychology; Dr. Rameela Shekhar and Dr P.V. Bhandary.

Dr. Rameela Shekhar is a Mental Health Professional and Trainer at Manashanthi Counselling, Research & Training Centre. She is the Dean (Retd.), from School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya. Mangaluru. Dr P.V. Bhandary is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Director in A.V. Baliga Hospital, Udupi.

Dr Rameela Shekhar explained the various destructive behaviors that are commonly seen in the teenager and the various internal and external environment factors responsible for it. She also helped our faculty understand the milennials better and how as a teacher, one can approach the students and help them out. Dr P.V. Bhandary explained about the various psychological problems that students face. He explained the factors contributing to the problems and also helped understand the reasons for suicidal tendencies and debunked the many myths about suicide.

The workshop provided the much needed clarity about understanding the millennial.

Student Counsellor invited as resource person for Election Process and Vote Rights Awareness programme

Student Counsellor invited as resource person for Election Process and Vote Rights Awareness programme Mr. Ankith S. Kumar, Student Counsellor was invited by Dr. M. V. Shetty College of Nursing to conduct a session for the Nursing students on the topic of Voting Rights and Election Process. He explained about the rights of the voters, procedure for the addition of names in the electoral list, the election process in India, and the importance of students’ participation in democracy and vote as an instrument of change.

Sahyadri opens its doors to 3 new faculties

• Dr. Azhar Shaheen S. Shaikh has joined Sahyadri as Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration. He has completed his B.E in Mechanical Engineering, from Karnataka University, Dharwad, MBA in Marketing, from VTU, securing fifth rank, and Ph.D in Consumer Behavior and Innovation from Karnataka University, Dharwad.

• Ms. Suchithra has joined Sahyadri as Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration. She has completed her BBM from Pompei College, Aikala and MBA in MSNM Besant Institute Of PG Management Studies, Mangaluru. Her area of Specialization is HR and Finance.


• Mr. Hemantha Prabhu B. has joined Sahyadri as Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. He has completed his B.E in Civil Engineering from Govt. B.D.T, College of Engineering, Davanagere; M.Tech in Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering, NITK, Surathkal. His area of Specialization is Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering. Sahyadri welcomes the new faculties into its fold and wishes them all the very best for their days at Sahyadri

Chethan Kumar N.T. is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Civil Engineering. He did his B. E from Govt. Engineering College, Hassan and M.Tech from JNNCE, Shimoga. His area of expertise is Transportation Engineering & Management. He has 2 years of industry experience and 4 years of teaching experience. He has published 20+ research Papers in journals. He is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

• Dakshayini is from Mysore. She did her SSLC in St. Joseph High School and PUC in St. Joseph’s PU College, Mysore. Her hobbies are cooking and reading. Her ambition is to become a structural engineer.
• Ifaaz Ahmed F. is from Chikmagalur. He did his SSLC in Cambridge English School and PUC in Sai Angel PU College, Chikmagalur. His hobbies are playing video games and travelling. His aspiration is to become a good civil engineer.
• Manjusha Murali C. is from Kasaragod. She did her SSLC in Jaimatha English Medium School and PUC in Swamijis Edneer, Kasargod. Her hobbies are singing and drawing. In her school days she has secured first place in singing competitions and in Light Music Competition. She wants to become a playback singer.
• Rakesh is from Mangaluru. He did his SSLC in Vidya Higher School and PUC in Canara PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are painting and model making. His aspiration is to become a transport engineer.
• Thejas B.C. is from Kodagu. He did his SSLC from Murnad Education Society and PUC in St. Anne’s PU College, Madikeri. His hobbies are reading, books, riding motor cycle and visiting historical places. His aspiration is to become an army officer.
• Neelappa Fakkerannavar is from Baghalkot. He did his SSLC in Govt. High School Sunag, and Diploma from MIET, Polytechnic. His hobbies are playing cricket, chess and volleyball. His aspiration is to become a good civil engineer.
• Harsha Gopal is from Puttur. He did his SSLC in SSLS High School, Alike and Diploma in KVG Polytechnic, Sullia. His hobbies are photography, travelling, and 3D designing. His aspiration is to become good civil engineer.
