JCI India holds a One-Day Training on Individual Development for its Members at Sahyadri

Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration-MBA was invited as a Guest of Honour for the inaugural ceremony of a “One-Day Training on Individual Development” organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) India for its members at Sahyadri. The Training was facilitated by JCI Sen MB Sadashiva, State Trainer & a Motivational Speaker and JCI Sen Soujanya Hegde, Provisional National Trainer.

Sushma, while addressing the members of JCI, mentioned how fortunate she feels to be associated with Sahyadri and remembered the words of Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary – “Sahyadri is not mine or yours, it is for the society”. He has always supported events like these to be organized in the campus by which majority of people get benefitted. She stimulated the participants to develop interest towards life-long learning as its opens doors for new opportunities. Prof. Sushma V is the President of JCI Mangalore Disha for the year 2019.

Sahyadri brings a new employee on Board

Sahyadri family is happy to welcome Dr. Nalini Elizabeth Rebello, B.E., M.Tech, Ph.D, as the new Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. Dr. Rebello has completed her B.E in Civil Engineering, from Bangalore University, M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering, from NITK, Surathkal, and her Ph.D research work on “Studies on Tunnels Subjected to Statics Loads and Blast induced Vibrations.

Dr. Rebello has to her credit, several research publications in national as well as international journals of high repute. She has also presented several Papers at the conferences both at national and international levels. But that’s not all. She has also attended several workshops conducted in some of the reputed institutions like A.J. Institute of Engineering and Technology, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte and NITK, Surathkal. She is a Fellow in the Institution of Engineers (IEI), India, (FIE); a Life Member of Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) and Indian Society for Technical Education (MISTE).

The Sahyadri Civil Department looks forward to work with Dr. Nalini Elizabeth Rebello and is also keen on hearing her ideas and getting her inputs. Introduction of Mentor:
Ms. Kavyashree M.P. is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. She obtained her BE degree from Vishveswarayya College of Engineering, Bangalore and M.Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal. She has 5 years of teaching experience and she is with Sahyadri since 4 years. Her research interests are Remote Sensing technologies, water resource management and Surveying.

Introduction of Mentees:
Abdulla Adil is from Manjeshwar. He pursued his high school from Milagres High school and studied PUC at Milagries PU College, Mangaluru. His hobby is playing football. He has a passion for Aviation and aspires to become a pilot.
• Ashwija K. is from Vittal. She pursued her high school from JAYCEES English Medium School, Vittal and studied PUC from Vivekanand College, Puttur. Her hobbies are drawing and making crafts. Her aspiration is to become good a civil engineer.
• Deepika C.N. is from Hassan. She pursued her high school from Sudhana Residential School and PUC from Sharada PU College, Puttur. Her hobbies are acting and playing Chess. She has participated in international Science Competition held at Netherlands. She also participated in Science Competition held at Chennai and won Gold Medal for the same. Her aspiration is to become an IAS officer.
• Kalarikkal Sarun is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from Aloysius English Medium School and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are dancing and Singing. His aspiration is to become good civil engineer.
• Mokshith is from Belthangady. He pursued his high school from Naravi High School, Naravi and PUC from SDM College, Ujjire. His hobbies are driving and sports. His aspiration is to become a PWD Engineer.
• Yashashwini U. Bhat is from Kumta. She pursued her high school from Adhichunchinagiri High School and PUC from Kokan Education trust, Kumta. Her hobbies are listening to music and story writing.
• Anup Kumar K.P. is from Thirthahalli. He pursued his high school from Dr. U R Ananthamurthy High School, Thirthahalli and studied Diploma from NRAM Polytechnic, Nitte. His hobby is playing cricket. His aspiration is to become a good civil engineer.
• Rohith is from Bantwal. He pursued his high school from Deepika High School, Bantwal Diploma from Govt. Polytechnic, Udupi. His hobbies are reading and playing Cricket. His aspiration is to become a good civil engineer. He has worked as a Planning and Consulting Engineer at Raj Consultancy, Bantwal.
