Webinar on “All about Data Science” by a Data Scientist at Tokopedia

Sahyadri was fortunate to have an Industry Expert - Mr. Aquib Javed Khan, Data Scientist at Tokopedia, facilitate an online session covering - Lifecycle of Data Projects, Tool, Methodologies and the key opportunities on 17th May’2020. Mr. Aquib, possesses 5 years of experience in ML, Data Analytics, mainly NLP. The session was organized by the Industry Connect Data Science team. Students of sixth semester from the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Science & Engineering were the beneficiaries of the session. It was a 2 full-hour session in the afternoon with students asking questions in great numbers.

Incubation Drive - Qspiders

Qspiders conducted an incubation online drive on 19th May’2020 for all the Engineering students of 2020 outgoing batch. The recruitment was conducted on their own platform -Skillrary. Mr. Girish Shivanna, Senior Architect addressed the students online. He gave an overview of the organization and briefed the students on incubation workflow. This was followed by an Online Aptitude Test for 45 minutes.

Mechanical Engineering Faculty Publishes Research Paper in Scopus/SCIE Indexed Journal

Prof. Ramakrishna Devananda, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering published a research paper titled - “The effect of load and addition of MWCNTs on silicone based TIMs on thermal contact heat transfer across Cu/Cu interface” in Material Research Express, Vol 6, No 11. The article focussed on the methods to enhance the heat flux across the copper interfaces using nanotechnology. The journal is indexed in Scopus, SCIE and comes under Q2 of the quartile category. The paper has been co-authored by Prof. Narayan Prabhu, Head of Dept. of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering NITK, Surathkal.

Faculty conducts a Webinar in Mathematics for CET/JEE

On 18^th May’2020, a session on ‘Quick tricks and Shortcuts in Mathematics for CET/JEE’ was delivered by Prof. Prashanth Rao, Head of Dept. of Mathematics through Google Meet App (ICT mode) which was also streamed LIVE on YouTube. The session was organized by Sahyadri Webinar Team.

Highlights of the Session:
• Shared tricks to manage time in exams like CET/JEE
• Discussed five shortcut tricks which are applicable for all subjects
• Few specific tricks and shortcuts in Mathematics to crack CET/JEE.
There were 250+ attendees for the live stream and 400+ views in YouTube. Students of PUC and Faculty Members from various institutions were the beneficiaries of the session.
