Mr. Abdul Kareem Successfully Defends his Doctoral Thesis

Mr. Abdul Kareem, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering completed his doctoral studies by successfully defending his thesis “Fuzzy Logic Based Super-twisting Sliding mode Controllers for Dynamic Uncertain Systems”. He carried out his research under the guidance of Dr. Mohammad Fazle Azeem in St. Peters University, Chennai. He has to his credit 8 International Journal publications and 24 International/National Conference publications. He has authored two text books, one published by LAP, Germany. He has applied for 2 patents and delivered 11 invited talks in various UGC and VGST sponsored workshops and conferences. He is a reviewer of many reputed journals on Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence etc. His research areas include Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Signal Processing, Wavelet Transforms, Digital Communication, etc. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, USA and many other professional bodies.

Sahyadrians Bag First Place in VIBE Dance Competition

The College won the First place leaving behind ten other participating teams in VIBE-2014; an Inter-Engineering College Dance Competition held at Infosys, Mudipu, Mangalore.

Sonali Rao, Pooja S., Shifali Kamath, Saudamini Rao, Joyelin, Medina Bhat, Sushmitha Rao, Shreeja and Sneha Shetty were part of the team under the guidance of Mr. Naveen Pilar, Coordinator, Department of Art & Culture.

Faculty Member Invited as Chief Guest

Mr. Ramesh K.G., Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, was invited as Chief Guest to address the NSS Volunteers of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore at their Annual Special Camp, held at PU College, Sampaje Coorg. He addressed the students on the topic "NSS and Service." There were totally 60 volunteers attending the week long camp. The talk was followed by a Q & A session with the students on carrier guidance as well as getting ready for the Corporate World.
