Ravi Kumar, an Alumnus interacts with students and faculty
Mr. Ravi Kumar, Design Engineer, Poorna Consulting Engineers, Bengaluru, an alumnus of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management addressed the students from the Department of Civil Engineering of first semester M.Tech (Structural Engineering & CADS). Mr. Ravi Kumar emphasised on the work methods and work culture at industries that are essential to meet the global demands in Civil Engineering. He shared tips on how challenges in the industries can be faced, post which he also interacted with the HOD and the faculty.

Value Added Course in Solid Works organised by Department of Mechanical Engineering
A value added course was organised by Department of Mechanical Engineering for the Third semester students in Solid Works software to provide software skill to help them in their upcoming project work. Solid Works is modelling and analysis software which is widely used in mechanical industrial applications. The course was planned for the duration of 45 hours accommodating 34 students. This course started on 25th September 2016 and ended on 5th November 2016. The faculty in charge of the course were Prof. Sandeep M J, Prof. Kishore D J & Prof. Vivek G Bharadwaj. The valedictory function was held in the Mechanical Department in the presence of Dr. Umesh M Bushi, Principal, Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal, Prof. Umashankar, Dean Academics, Prof. Mahesh B Davanageri, Head of the Department, Faculty and the students who participated in the course. Dignitaries of the programme issued Certificates to the students who completed the course successfully.
Consultancy Cell, Department of Civil Engineering Identified as Consultant for Ganga Kalyan Scheme, Government of Karnataka Undertaking
Dr. B R Ambedkar Development Corporation Ltd, signed an MOU with the Consultancy Cell, Department of Civil Engineering to facilitate the third party consultancy works more efficiently. Mr. Siddaraju, Managing Director, Dr. B R Ambedkar Development Corporation Ltd, Prof. Amarnath S N, Prof. Umesh S S, HOD (PG), Dr. S Manjappa, Director of Research, Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal and other officials from Dr. B R Ambedkar Development Corporation Ltd were present while signing the MOU.
