SSTH 2016 Zonal event at Expert P. U. College, Kodialbail
Zonal event of SSTH 2016 was held at Expert P U College, Kodialbail during which Mr. Karunakar Balkur, SSTH Co-ordinator, Expert P. U. College, Kodialbail welcomed the gathering and also thanked Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management for organizing such an event which motivates students to showcase their talent. Mr. Ramachandra Bhat, Principal, Expert P. U. College was the chief guest for the inaugural function. Ms. Deepthi Dayanand and Ms. Roopashree from the Department of Electronics and Communication evaluated the projects. Certificates for participation and also for the winners were distributed during the valedictory ceremony.

SSTH Zonal event was conducted at Karkala Jnanasudha P. U. College, Ganitnagar. Mr. Dinesh M Kadavoor, Principal, Karkala Jnanasudha P. U. College, Ganitnagar was the chief guest of the formal function. He thanked Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management for organising an event like SSTH and also mentioned that such an event is good for the younger generation to exhibit their talent. Mr. Mahadev Gowda, Department of Physics, Ms. Jyothi padmanabhan, PRO, Mr. Mithun U, Department of Chemistry from Karkala Jnanasudha P. U. College, Ganitnagar and Ms. Mary Jency, Department of Mathematics, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management were the judges. Ms. Aysha Shabana & Ms. Mary Jency, Department of Mathematics were Sahyadri zonal co-ordinators.
Reshma, an Alumna interacts with Department of Computer Science & Engineering
Ms. Reshma, an Alumna of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, currently pursuing her Masters, addressed the students of Computer Science & Engineering. During her interaction, she highlighted the importance of Aptitude and Academics. She made the students aware of the competition and struggle to get jobs off-campus. She also spent quality time interacting with the HOD and faculties of the department.

Ethnus Campus Recruitment Drive
Ethnus Consultancy Pvt. Ltd conducted the exclusive campus recruitment drive for the engineering students of the 2017 batch. Mr. Narthan Poovanna, Human Resources, Ethnus accompanied by panellists on the recruitment team was at the campus to facilitate the entire recruitment process. Sixteen students have been shortlisted for the final round of selection.
Swachch Mangaluru in Valencia area
The Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan as a part of Swachh Bharath mission scheduled a cleaning programme on 6th of November 2016 in Valencia area. “Swami Bodhaswarupanandaji of Ponnampet Ramakrishna Ashrama & Prof. Prabhakar B K, Department of Computer Science & Engineering jointly flagged off the drive. Students of first year engineering section “F” took part in the drive along with Ms. Mary Jency, Mr. Prabhakara B K, Ms. Nithisha Rodrigues and Ms. Shreelatha U A. Swamiji briefed the volunteers about the drive & its objectives. Swami Tyagishwaranandaji from Shivamogga Ramakrishna Math, Swami Ekagamyanandaji, Co-convener of Mangaluru Math and Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC visited the venue and encouraged the students. Mr. Prakash Garodi & Mr. Dhanush, volunteers from Ramakrishna Math, co-ordinated the event.

As a first phase of understanding the parameters of The Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award in Health Care Sector & applying for it, the HR Team of AJ Hospital, Mangaluru approached Dr. Vishal Samartha & Prof. Sushma V, the HR Specialization faculties of Department of Business Administration for consultancy purpose. The HR Team was guided on the key attributes of this award under each category and the best practices that may contribute and further win the prestigious Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award. The HR team is currently in the process of preparing the draft and shall reach out to the faculties on further inputs.
