Program Lead, Center for Social Innovation at Sahyadri (CSIS), attends Faculty Development Program (FDP)
Mr. Gautham Nayak, Program Lead, Center for Social Innovation at Sahyadri (CSIS), attended a 3-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) during 25th to 27th Nov’19.
The FDP was organised by Centre for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CSIE), IIT Madras along with Social Impact Lab, University of Southampton, UK. It was sponsored by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in association with UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI).
The FDP was conducted as a part of the program titled “Building Social Entrepreneurship Capacity among Technology Graduates”. During the 3-Day program the participants were introduced to important topics of social innovation like, Value Creation for Social Impact, Social Enterprise Business Model Canvas, Entrepreneurship Skillset, Elements of Social Entrepreneurship Curriculum and Design Thinking for Social Innovation.
The sessions were delivered by eminent professors Dr. Pathik Pathak, University of Southampton, UK; Prof. Gavin Melles Swinburne University, Australia; Dr. L. S. Ganesh and Prof. James Rajanayagam from IIT Madras.
Student and Faculty Paper selected for International Engineering Symposium at Kumamoto University, Japan
Paper titled “Effect of Embrittlement on Microstrucure, Mechanical and Wear Behaviour of Super Duplex Stainless Steel authored by Dr Mahesh Davanageri, Associate Professor Dept of Mechanical Engineering and Ms. Disha D, student of Seventh Semester, Mechanical Engineering has been accepted for Oral Presentation at International Engineering Symposium (IES2020) to be held during 3rd to 5th March’20 at Kumamoto University, Japan.

Prof Asha B Shetty has pursued her B.E Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru and M.Tech Degree in Computer Network Engineering from NMAMIT, Nitte. Her area of interest includes Computer Networking, Data Analytics and AR/VR.

• Adeline Theresa Saldanha is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from St. Agnes High School and PUC from St. Aloysius P.U. College, Mangaluru. Gardening is her hobby. Her aspiration is to join a core company.
• Adib G Ahamed is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Bearys Public School and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. His leisure activities include sketching, photography and cooking. His aspiration is to become a coder in Seimens.
• Ayeesha Rasha is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from International Indian School, Riyadh, KSA and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies include singing, writing poems and addressing the crowd. Her aspiration is to become a software engineer in a good multinational company. She also wishes to become a social worker and strive to bring happiness into people’s lives.
• Mohammad Thufail is from Puttur. He pursued his schooling from Vidyarashmi English Medium School and PUC from St. Philomena PU College, Puttur. In his leisure hours he loves to play cricket. His aspiration is to become an efficient Programmer in a reputed company.
• Neha is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from MGC High School and PUC from Padua PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies include drawing, singing, artistic works, and playing throw ball & badminton. Her aspiration is to become a good software developer in a reputed multinational company.
• Sahithya is from Kumbla. She pursued her schooling from Sharada Vidyanikethana and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies include dancing and singing. Her aspiration is to become a good software developer.
