International Conference on Agribusiness Management - Opportunities and Challenges Gets Underway in the Campus

The three-day International Conference on Agribusiness Management-`Opportunities and Challenges’ got underway in the Campus with 200 delegates including 35 international delegates from 3 countries taking part in the inaugural programme. Dr. Chowdappa P., Director, Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod, inaugurating the programme, spoke about the shift from agriculture to agribusiness, attracting young stars towards agribusiness by making agribusiness a profitable venture.

Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director, Agribusiness Centre, MANAGE, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, was the keynote speaker for the programme. Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation, in his presidential address spoke about the culture and in agribusiness. He gave many examples of his life to define the culture in agribusiness. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, gave the welcome address, Dr A. P. Achar, Director, Department of Business Administration, gave the overview of the conference.

The international conference is organised by the Department of Business Administration in association with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad and the University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod, is supporting this conference as knowledge partner.



A cultural extravaganza after the formal programme was held for the participants of the Conference where Sahyadrians showcased their talent in vocal music, instrumental music and dance.

Twenty-one Sahyadrians Recruited by Tech Mahindra

Twenty-one Sahyadrians have been recruited by Tech Mahindra in the final pool interview held in the Campus. Students of B.E. and MCA from St. Joseph College of Engineering, Canara Engineering College, Srinivas Institute of Technology and Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management attended the interview. Mr. Raju N. G., Resource Management Group, Tech Mahindra Ltd. along with his team conducted the final interview.

Sahyadri Talent Hunt-2014

The presentation introducing Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt-2014 was organized in various PU colleges of Kasaragod district. The team comprising of Prof. Abdul Kareem, Fadil Luquman, Nived, Semester VII, Eelctronics & Communication Engineering, Minhaj, Semester V Mechanical Engineering and Mashood, Semester V, Computer Science & Engineering, delivered sessions on the Science Talent Hunt programme, career options in Science stream, projects, method and reference for executing projects. Many students have shown interest to come to Sahyadri for studying about project works.

Sahyadri Talent

Anusha, Semester I, Computer Science & Engineering, is a trained Classical Dancer. She has participated and bagged many prizes in Dance, Elocution and Rangoli Competitions. She has bagged the first prize in the Dance Competition held at the State level and won the first prize in Elocution Competition and Fancy Dress Competition held at the School level.
