Infosys Pool Campus Recruitment Drive
Fifty-one students of the College have been shortlisted by Infosys in the pool campus recruitment drive held in the Campus. The final interview will be held tomorrow.
Mr. Mohit Shetty of MetricStream Addresses Students of MBA
 The Department of Business Administration organized a guest lecture for the HR specialization students of the department. Mr. Mohit Shetty, Senior Strategic HR Business Partner, MetricStream, Bangalore, was the resource person. He addressed the students on the various "Recruiting Skills" that are required for the HR students to assess the candidates lined up for interview as most of the HR students would choose HR-Recruiter as their career to begin with. He gave clear inputs on the corporate expectations from the HR-Recruiter. In addition to this, he has been instrumental in sharing the current trends in recruitment and gave the students the practical exposure to use the search engines on Job Portals. Students in the role of an HR Recruiter had to close vacancies within the stipulated time frame in an activity session coordinated by Mr. Mohit Shetty.
Upcoming Event
A three-day International Conference on Agribusiness Management – Opportunities and Challenges, has been organised by the Department of Business Administration, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management in association with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, from the 9th of October to the 11th of October 2014 at Sahyadri campus. University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod, are supporting this conference as knowledge partner.
The aim of the conference is to explore and map various opportunities and challenges for agribusiness in developing economies including India in the internationally integrated and globalized economic environment. Policy makers, financial institutions supporting agribusiness’ Non-governmental organizations, experts from the industry, academicians and researchers from the related areas and students from related streams will be participating in this conference. All the papers accepted for presentation in the conference will be published in the form of a book with ISBN Number. Selected best 15 papers will be published in ITIHAS – The Journal of Indian Management. This journal internally indexed and listed in EBSCO Publishing.
Around 200 delegates including 60 international delegates from 10 countries are expected to participate in this programme. The programme is convened under the supervision and guidance of Dr. A. P. Achar, Director, Department of Business Administration. The key coordinators are Prof. Lokesh, Prof. Ramesh and Prof. Gayathri Shetty.

 Dr. L. Subramaniam has joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as a Professor. He obtained his B.E. from MIT, Manipal, post-graduation M.E. degree in Engineering Design from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and M.S. degree from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. He received his doctoral degree from Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute University, Chennai.

 Neha V. Shetty, Semester I, Civil Engineering, is an upcoming Dancer. She has participated and bagged many prizes in Dance Competition at the School and Taluk level. She has also bagged prizes in Badminton and Throw ball tournaments held at the taluk level. She is also an upcoming writer.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri
Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management will be undergoing recertification Audit by ISO. The ISO Certification was accorded by TUV-NORD. Shri. Srivatsa and Shri. Mohan Khandate, will be the members of the audit team. Sahyadri heartily welcomes and seek areas of improvements to become more professional. The audit will take place from 8th of October to 10th of October, 2014.
