Sahyadrians win Chemical Breakdown Quiz event at Reflux -2018 organized by NITK- Surathkal

Chemical Breakdown Quiz event at Reflux -2018 A team of three first year students Mr. Naveen Shenoy, Mr Vishwas Kamath and Mr. Vital of D Section won the flagship event called Chemical Breakdown of Reflux 2018 Intercollegiate Technical Fest organized by NIT-Karnataka, Surathkal. The event had three rounds consisting of Aptitude Test, Picture Connect and Treasure Hunt which our students managed to win and bag a cash prize of Rs.7,000/-. Sahyadri family congratulates the students for their wonderful achievement and wishes them Best of Luck for their future endeavors.

KPMG-GDC Campus Recruitment drive

KPMG-GDC Campus Recruitment driveKPMG-GDC Campus Recruitment drive KPMG-GDC team visited Sahyadri to conduct a pool campus recruitment drive for the outgoing MBA students. The drive started with a pre placement talk by Mr. Badri Subbarao Bangaru, Executive Director, KPMG-GDC. Ms. Lakshmi Venkatesh and Mr. Hardik Shah from the recruitment team were present on the occasion.

In total 93 students appeared for the aptitude test out of which 67 got shortlisted for the next round of personal interview. Final results are awaited.

Student Counsellor receives Senior First Aid Responder Certification from the famous UK based First Aid Charity Organization, St John’s Ambulance.

Mr Ankith S. Kumar, Student Counsellor has received his Senior Certification in First Aid Training by the world renowned UK based First Aid charity organization called St John Ambulance. He has cleared his senior examination conducted by St John Ambulance India division and received SFA certification.

St. John Ambulance India is the Indian branch of St. John Ambulance an international organization involved in teaching and practice of medical first aid and the provision of ambulance services. It has its national headquarters in Delhi and operates as a federation. There are two operational wings often called the Association Wing (which delivers first aid training) and the Brigade Wing (which delivers First Aid at public events).

St John Ambulance is the name of a number of affiliated organizations in different countries, which teach and provide first aid and emergency medicine and are primarily staffed by volunteers.

• Maventic is visiting Sahyadri to conduct a pool campus recruitment drive for the 2019 outgoing batch from various disciplines of engineering, like Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication.

Maventic is an emerging end-to-end global solution provider focused on solutions based on SAP NetWeaver. Maventic aims to be a Trusted Advisor to its clients and help them build faster, cost effective and innovative solutions leveraging the complete potential of SAP NetWeaver Platform.

• Hacktoberfest Hacknight at Sahyadri
Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software run by DigitalOcean in partnership with GitHub and Twilio. It is open to everyone in our global community. It encourages meaningful contributions to the open source software hosted on GitHub, for beginners and veterans alike which leads to personal growth, professional opportunities and community building.

SOSC is an Open Source Community at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. The community is a conglomeration of clubs and individuals. Mozilla Campus Clubs, Developer Students Clubs, and the GitHub Campus Experts are to name a few. SOSC will be hosting Hacktoberfest HackNight in Association with New Age Incubation Network (NAIN) on 13th & 14th October 2018 at Sahyadri to celebrate a month of open source with Hacktoberfest.

The event will be inaugurated by Shri. Shashank Krishna, Padma Shri 2019 (Nominee) and Founder & Director of Katmai Infotechnology Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore. He has received numerous awards for his remarkable contribution in developing socially impactful projects. He has mentored two projects – under Smart India Hackathon 2018. Both the projects were awarded first under different categories, one at Chandigarh and other at Hyderabad.

The main event will start off with a workshop followed by a 12 hour Hackathon where around 120+ students will come together in teams and work on projects under various domains including Education, Entertainment and Productivity to help innovate and enhance the current system. The projects will then be open sourced through GitHub paving way for the new open source contributors to be born.
