Innoventure 2018

Innoventure 2018 The zonal level of Innoventure 2018 was held in the campus. The event was jointly organized by the college and DTI Labz

InnoVenture 2018 is India's first Ideation and Entrepreneurship Challenge for students from grades 4th to 9th conducted by IIM Kolkata and Intelligence Plus. The objective of the Challenge is to equip children with crucial 21st Century skills essential for solving real-life problems.

Almost 80 students from different schools in and around Mangalore participated in the challenge.

The credit for organising and successfully carrying out this event goes to Mr. Subramanya Rao, a Vth Semester student from the Dept of Computer Science.

As a part of their field trip 170 students belonging to Nursery, Lower kindergarten and Upper Kindergarten of Manipal School, Attavar visited Sahyadri. The visit was organised by the school to provide the kids with out-of-class learning experience to ensure that there is application of learning done in the classroom in everyday life as well. The students visited the campus gardens and organic farm fields. They also had fun session at the seminar hall. The students were accompanied by ten teachers.

Sahyadrian Athletic team won second place in the March Past at the 21st VTU Athletic Competition held at SJC Institute of Technology (SJCIT), Chikaballapura.

Sahyadri’s own DTI Labz Pvt Ltd a full-fledged company in India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018, New Delhi Sahyadri’s own DTI Labz Pvt Ltd a full-fledged company in India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018, New Delhi India Mobile Congress 2018 with its theme "New Digital Horizons. Connect. Create. Innovate." is being held from 25th to 27th October 2018, at Aerocity, New Delhi. It is organized by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).

DTi Labz is chosen to be a part of the Karnataka State Pavilion at the India Mobile Congress along with 9 other startups from all over Karnataka. DTi Labz is being represented by Gagandeep B and Poojary Dikshith of 5th and 3rd Semester respectively from the department of Electronics and Communication.

IMC hopes to bring together the largest congregation of global professionals from the digital ecosystem, encompassing 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Cities, Start-ups in the technology space and allied industry sectors. The Sayadrians representing DTI Labz interacted with numerous students and delegates from various companies across the nation who in turn commended their efforts on simplifying the learning curve in electronics based projects. They visited various exhibitors like Samsung, Huawei, Intel, Nokia, Qualcomm, Airtel, Jio, Facebook, Cisco etc., who showcased technologies mainly related to 5G, Internet of Things, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence.

The inauguration was presided by the likes of Smt. Aruna Sundarajan (Secy. & Chairperson, Telecom Commission, Govt. of India), Mr. Mukesh Ambani (Chairman & Founder, Reliance Industries), Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal (Chairman & Founder, Bharti Enterprise)

National Service Scheme (NSS) Induction and Orientation programme for Student Volunteers

National Service Scheme (NSS) Induction and Orientation programme for Student Volunteers An induction and orientation programme on NSS was conducted by Mrs Shreelatha U.A., NSS Programme Officer for the newly enrolled student volunteers. Through this programme the students were introduced top NSS, its history, objectives, motto, achievements and growth, the role of NSS in helping the students grow.

Mrs. Shreelatha explained the importance of NSS programme and also how the students can contribute to the society through selfless service using NSS as a platform. She also explained about the types of programmes and the number of hours one should involve in NSS activities in two years. A video explaining the rationale of the NSS programme was shown to the students with a view to give them clarity about the entire programme. NSS badges and note books were distributed to the volunteers.

During current academic year more than 110 students have enrolled for NSS.

Sahyadrians Recruited by TCS

Sahyadrians Recruited by TCS Meghana S. Bangera, Krithi Kotari, Varsha Vinod and Sumana from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering; Allan Loy D’Souza and Pushpak from the Department of Mechanical Engineering have been recruited for the position of Assistant System Engineer - Trainee by TCS in the recently held recruitment drive. The package offered is Rs. 3,36,875/- per annum.

Shridevi Kapileshwari from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been selected by SAP Labs in the recently held Campus Recruitment Drive. The package offered is 10 Lakhs per annum.
