Sahyadrians recruited by Juego Studio Ms. Tanushree, a student of Information Science & Engineering has been recruited for the position of Software Development; Ms. Ashwini, a student of Computer Science & Engineering has been recruited for the position of Software Testing; two MBA students - Ms. Sanjana Cion and Ms. Suhasini Shankar B. have been recruited for the positions of Business Development Executive by Juego Studio during the campus recruitment drive held on 3rd Oct’19, for the outgoing 2019-2020 batch.

Sessions on Design Thinking for Sector-specific SolutionSessions on Design Thinking for Sector-specific Solution Mr. Johnson Tellis & Mr. Gautham Nayak conducted a session on Design Thinking on 14th Oct’19 for the 2nd Year students of Information Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. In this session, students were asked to choose different sectors in which they would work for the next 3 years. This helps the society to lead a better life. They were also called upon to be aware of the various problems affecting Dakshina Kannada District and were advised to come up with solutions that could impact the region.

Team Challengers win 2nd place in Aeromodeling competition at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore Team Challengers won 2nd place in Aeromodeling competition Aerodominator held at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Vellore. The team members comprised of Shamanth S. Gowda, student of 4th Year Electronics & Communication Engineering along with 1st Year students - Akshay B. Rao, S. Shashank Tholpady and Prakyath H.N. The team members also interacted with students of various technical clubs of VIT.

First-year Engineering students excel at DA-IICT, Gandhinagar, Gujarat A total of 24 First Year students from Clan Utkarsh, under the mentorship of Mr. Nihal Sanil, student of 2nd Year Mechanical Engineering participated in I-Fest organized by Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat. They have bagged the best BOT award.

First Year Engineering excel at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, Tamilnadu. A total of 21 First year students from Clan Mudita, under the mentorship of Mr. Sumanth of 2nd Year Information Science & Engineering, and Mr. Akhilesh of 2nd Year Computer Science & Engineering, participated in Gravitas-19 organized by VIT, Vellore.

The team won prizes in the following events:
• 1st place in Chem-e-car
• 1st place in De-Melt
• 2nd place in Aeromodelling
• 4th place in Chem-e-fountain
• 5th place in Chem-e-light

MBA student gives audition at SPEAK FOR INDIA Karnataka Edition 2019 Mr. Sagar B.C., a 2nd year MBA student, participated in the District Level SPEAK FOR INDIA Karnataka Edition 2019 inter-collegiate debate competition. The event saw participation from 80 students in Dakshina Kannada District. In the first round, Sagar was allotted the topic "The Impact of TikTok on Young Generation". He was among the 20 who were selected for the semi-final round, wherein his topic was "Compulsory Fine for Citizens who do not cast their Vote".

With the intent of up-skilling the staff, Sahyadri Future Skills - AR/VR/MR and Social Mobile organized its fourth session on 12th Oct19. The session was engraved on the topic “Mobile Application Development”, and was facilitated by Mr. Subramanya C, a trainer from DreamSoft Innovations. A theory session on “Augmented Reality”, “Augmented Reality Working” and “AR Applications in Education” was successfully conducted by the resource person.

Director-MBA invited as Chief Guest for the POSH Train-The-Trainer Workshop Director-MBA invited as Chief Guest for the POSH Train-The-Trainer Workshop Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA was invited as a Chief Guest for the Train-The-Trainer Workshop on POSH organized by Swastika Consultancy Services on 11th Oct'19 at Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru.

Prof. Sushma V along with two of the MBA HR students - Ismail Rishan and Josvina Machado attended the workshop as participants. Prevention Of Sexual Harassment (POSH) is the need of the hour and the Act of 2013 requires that every organization with 10 or more women employees should strictly adhere to the POSH Guidelines.

The team intends to facilitate an Awareness Programme on POSH at Sahyadri for its staff members and are also exploring opportunities to conduct Training Programmes on POSH to other organizations as well.

Introduction of the Mentor:

Dr. Ashwath Rao has 13 years of industry and teaching experience and more than 5 years of research experience. He has completed his B.E in Electronics & Communication Engineering in the year 2001 from N M A M Institute of Technology, Nitte, Mangalore University and M.S. in VLSI-CAD in the year 2007 from Manipal Centre for Information Science, Manipal University. He has also completed P.G.D.B.A in Marketing from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, NMIMS University. He obtained his degree in Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. He is a member of Board of Studies for M.Tech Program in VLSI Design and Embedded System at NMAM Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. He has served as Member of Board of Studies in EC/TC, VTU, Belagavi. He is also an active member of professional bodies such as Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Institute of Smart Structures & Systems, Institute of Engineers, Indian Society for Technical Education. His areas of research include High-k Dielectrics, Microelectronics, MEMS, VLSI Design & Fabrication, Microelectronic Devices, and Radiation effects on Semiconductor devices used for space application.

Introduction of the Mentees:
• Chaithanya hails from Belthangady. She pursued her SSLC in Good Future English Medium School, Pillya and PUC at SDM PU College, Ujire. Her hobbies include reading books, sports, singing. She aspires to work in Indian Navy.
• Vidisha is from Veerakambha. She pursued her SSLC from Balavikas English Medium School Mani and PUC from Ambika Pre-university College, Nellikatte, Puttur. Her hobbies include sketching, reading novels and dancing. She aspires to become a good engineer and to work in a reputed software company like TCS.
• Nidhi is from Mangaluru. She pursued her SSLC in St. Agnes Girls High School, Mangalore and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangalore. Her hobbies are singing, drawing, etc. She aspires to become a great engineer and work in a good company.
• K. Pratham Prabhu is from Surathkal, Mangaluru. He pursued his SSLC from Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Panambur, Mangaluru and PU in Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Panambur, Mangaluru. His hobbies are photo-editing, writing, painting and learning new skills. He aspires to work in a core company like Intel Technologies.
• Devang Pradeep is from Kollam, Kerala. He pursued his SSLC in Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangalore and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies include photography, travelling. He aspires to work in a software company with a good package.
