Director-Research Invited as Resource Person for the Forthcoming AICTE ATAL National Level FDP "Wealth from Waste"

Dr. S. Manjappa, Director-Research is invited as Resource Person for the forthcoming AICTE ATAL FDP "Technology Innovation: Wealth from Waste" organised by the Department of Chemical Engineering, B.M.S. College of Engineering, Bengaluru. This is a Week-long FDP sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE-ATAL Scheme) Govt. of India, New Delhi and will be conducted online from 23 to 27 Nov’ 2020.
The FDP aims at enlightening the participants about the generation of energy from waste treatment by anerobic method, solid waste disposal and electrolytic coagulation of waste water to recover the heavy/noble metals and reusable chemicals from the waste.

Bridge Course 2020 Second Batch – Day Nine

The Day Nine of Bridge Course included testing and Talk on Communication Strategy.
In the morning session the students tested Line Follower bot and Remote Controlled bot on the final arena. Mr. Johnson Tellis prepped the students by a small talk on "Making Effective Communication" with 5 effective strategies like:
1. Be Confident
2. 30 Seconds Rule
3. Connect
4. Add Value
5. Inspire
In the afternoon session, students had to present their 9 days learning and experiences in the campus by making a presentation which was evaluated by Ms. Sushma and Ms. Ananya Bangera.

Faculty Members attend Webinar on ‘Scientific Writing & Publishing for Journals’ from Springer Nature in collaboration with VTU

Ms. Suvira Srivastav, Editorial Director Journal, Mathematics Physics and Applied Sciences-India and Computer Science–Asia Pacific, was the resource person for the Webinar on ‘Scientific Writing & Publishing for Journals’ organized by Springer Nature in collaboration with VTU on 30th Sep’2020. She is also a part of Springer Nature Senior Leadership Team of Journals.
The two and a half hours lecture answered far more than throwing light on the nuances of publishing. The objective of conducting this webinar was to help faculty members become a ‘Smart Researcher and Author’. The Webinar addressed the following questions:
• Difficulty in structuring the Research Paper
• Difficulty in finding a suitable journal
• Time taken by the journal to take decision on the publication of the research paper
• What Reviewers/Readers expect

Campus Recruitment Drive - Infosys

Infosys conducted Campus Recruitment Drive for the Engineering students of the 2021 outgoing Batch. The test process consisted of a virtual online assessment and the shortlisted students would be required to undergo video interviews to assess their technical and behavioral skills.
Over 450 students have taken up the first round of online assessment, results are awaited.
