Sahyadrians Recruited by Winman Software

winman Adithya N. Shetty and Namitha, students of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Dushyanth Prabhu B., Ananya K. R. and Sushma J., students of Computer Science & Engineering, have been recruited by Winman Software India LLP in the recently held Virtual Campus Recruitment Drive.
Winman Software India LLP is engaged in developing and distributing standardized software products with a special focus on income tax software for the Indian market.

CSE Faculty trains CISF Personnel on New Generation Cyber Crimes at Airports

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G., Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, and a Cyber Law and Security Trainer for the Law Enforcement Agencies, engaged a first of its kind Workshop on New Generation Cyber Crimes at the Airports, for the officers of the Central Industry Security Force (CISF), Mangaluru. The Workshop was held at the Auditorium of the Old Mangalore Airport, Bajpe, Mangaluru.
The Central Industry Security Force protects the airports of India. They are the frontline Covid-19 warriors.
Cyber-attacks represent one of the most serious threats to the aviation industry. At the very least they can extract millions of rupees in damages, but at worst they could be devastating and allow terrorists to achieve their goals without having to set foot on a single flight. The last few years have seen an explosion in the number of Cyber-attacks in the airports throughout the world.
With the intent and a target to make Mangalore International Airport one of the most secure airports in the world, Dr. Prabhu discussed the following:
a) Implementation rate of cyber-security measures in commercial airports;
b) Malicious threats that evolve due to IoT and Smart devices installed;
c) Risk scenario analysis for malicious attacks with threat mitigation actions
d) Strategies to enhance operational practices and develop robust cyber-security governance in Smart Airports; and
e) Facilitate airport community, comprehend risks and proactively act, by implementing best practices and resilience measures in cyber-security.
The workshop was attended by around 150 officers of various ranks. Mr. Krishna Prakash, Dy. Commandment, CISF/CASO; Mr. Samart Rangi Nilakant, CISF Assistant Commandant; Mr. Gopal Krishna, Liaison Officer and others were present.

Faculty members attend Nationwide Launch of Version 2 of SIP

Faculty members nominated for the SIP Committee attended nationwide launch of Version 2 of the Student Induction Programme (SIP) by AICTE on 27 Oct’2020.
The intent of this programme is to share an overview of the fully redesigned Student Induction Program as well as launch its online version. They have incorporated learning as well as the feedback from over the last 3 years. It now consists of 9 well-connected modules. This year the Student Induction will be conducted through online platform.
