Commemoration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Sahyadri

In commemoration of the Birth anniversary of Shree Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was observed at Sahyadri. All faculty of Sahaydri undertook a Pledge to protect the unity of the nation and spread awareness of unity and integrity among their fellowmen.

Engineering Students participate in the District Youth Parliament 2020

Ayesha Rasha, student of 2nd Year Information Science & Engineering and K. Samarth N. Kamath, student of 3rd Year Computer Science & Engineering represented Sahyadri in the District Youth Parliament 2020.
Nehru Yuva Kendra under the aegis of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and UN Volunteers India jointly with Ministry of Youth and Affairs held the District Youth Parliament 2020 on 28 Oct’2020.
Inaugurating the Virtual Program, Dr. Rajendra K.V., Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, exhorted the students to utilize such opportunities to groom themselves as a better citizenry. These activities will go a long way in inculcating and realizing the roles and responsibilities of individuals in safeguarding the secular and democratic fabric of our constitution, he stated.
The Youth Parliament is a structured Simulation for educating the students on the functioning of our Parliamentary system. It makes the youth to realize their roles and responsibilities as citizens of this largest democracy, opined Atul J. Nikam, State Director, NYKS, Karnataka.
Speaking on the occasion, Debjani Samantaray, National Project Manager for Strengthening NYKS & NSS which is a Joint Project of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, UNV and UNDP, called on the participants to internalize the tenets of our constitution and the democratic process involved in the governance of our country. She said that these platforms provided an opportunity to Channelise the energy and enthusiasm of the youth for positive purposes.
Dr. Selvamani R., CEO, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath, Mr. Jain George, Deputy State Director, NYKS Karnataka were present on the occasion, among others.
Mr. Srinivasan Nandagopal, Convener of Centre for Integrated Learning, highlighted the process of conduct of the Youth Parliament while Mr. Raghuveer Souterpete, UNV, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra Mangaluru, conducted the virtual inauguration of the event.
Students, Ayesha Rasha and K. Samarth N. Kamath were part of the competition and held the roles of Opposition Member and Labour & Employment Minister respectively.

Training and Placement - Adobe Pre-placement Talk

Adobe, under their #SheCodes initiative, hosted Pre-placement Talk for the shortlisted students from 2022/2023 Batch. The briefing was about the Product Engineering Internship role, Selection Process, Compensation and Benefits.
The Talk began with an introductory video about life in Adobe. The speaker shared a presentation on the eligibility criteria, responsibilities of the product intern and various rounds that would be included for the selection process.
Finally, there was QnA Session for clarifying the doubts of participants.

CSE Faculty is selected for the Prestigious District Rajyotsava Award

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G., Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering is selected for the prestigious District Rajyotsava Award 2020. His contribution to the society in the field of Cyber Security Awareness and Training the Law Enforcement Agencies has been recognized.
Dr. Prabhu is a Cyber Law Expert at the Karnataka Judicial Academy and Cyber Security Trainer at the Karnataka Police Academy. His brainchild Cyber Safe Girl v3.0 has directly benefited more than 3 lakh girls to stay cyber safe and browse the internet responsibly.
Dr. Prabhu is also an accomplished author who has written eight books, all of which are, bestsellers on ‘Google Play Books’. The revenue generated from the books sale is utilized towards nation building and charitable activities by Dr. Prabhu.
Dr. Prabhu has also been recognized as one among the 30 unsung heroes of India by the India Vs magazine in 2019. His exemplary work in the field of Cyber laws and Cyber security, coupled with his indomitable spirit has brought him the purest laurels.
