Chairman and Dr. Manjappa attend AHMP Conference at Washington, D.C.

Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary and
Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director, Research and Consultancy, attended Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP), National Conference, at Omni Shoreham, Washington, D.C., USA from August 28-31, 2016. AHMP 2016 is one of the most valuable resources for education and networking. The landscape of EHS&S is constantly changing, hence AHMP 2016 emphasis environmental, health safety and security professional and leaders to have the vision, knowledge and the experience to effectively manage hazardous materials and mitigate risk. AHMP 2016 states that it is crucial that for all of us to continue our professional development, remain adaptable, motivated, responsive, experience emerging trends, develop new skills and build a powerful community of colleagues and revitalize the passion for the profession. AHMP 2016 had 650+ Colleagues, 60+ Exhibitors, 70+ Peer Reviewed Sessions, 4+ Pre Conference Workshops, 8+ Subject Matter Areas, Technical Tours, and On-Site CHMM/CHMP & CDGP Credentialing Exams.

Day 2 of MBA Induction Programme

During the Day two of Induction programme, two guests addressed the students. Mr. Dheeraj Shetty, Plant HR Head, Indo-US MIM Pvt Ltd, is an HR professional having 18 years of experience in the core areas of HR viz. Strategic HR OD, Recruitment, Change Management, CSR, Talent Management , Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, Industrial Relations, Designing and Implementing HR Operations &, HRMS, Employee Communication. In his session with the new entrants, gave heads up on the four generations namely Traditionalist, Baby Boomers, Gen X and Gen Y. He awakened the students to understand their strengths in comparison to the characteristics of each generation and work on capitalising their strengths in achieving success in academics as well in career which is awaiting them after the completion of their MBA course. He emphasised on the personality development traits and body language which are imperative for the grooming of every individual.

Dr. J N Bhat, Medical Superintendant, SCS Hospital, Mangalore imparted the importance of Happiness than Money to live a long life. He also emphasised on the focus that needs to be shifted towards Health and Wellness. He mentioned that Health is a positive reality which is the outcome of Routine Exercise and Yoga.

Mr. Achutha Shenoy K, Associate-1, KPMG GDC, Bangalore, alumnus of Sahyadri MBA (YR 2014-16 Batch) also addressed the new entrants on how he was groomed by the institution in order to be placed in an esteemed organization. He urged the students to participate in all training programmes initiated by the Department as it adds immense value to the personality development. He congratulated them for choosing Sahyadri for their MBA as he considers himself to be fortunate to have studied here which has won him recognitions in all aspects of his life and career.
