Sahyadri Civil Engineering Department celebrates "World Ozone Day"

World Ozone Day celebrated at Sahyadri World Ozone Day celebrated at Sahyadri Department of Civil Engineering celebrated the "World Ozone day" in association with,and sponsored by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB). The Ozone Day commemorates the date of signing in 1987 of Montreal Protocol on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer.

World Ozone Day celebrated at Sahyadri The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Mr. A.G Pai, Director & CEO, JBF Petrochemicals Ltd, Mangalore. Dr. S. Manjappa, Director – Research & Consultancy, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management addressed the gathering and briefed about the theme of Ozone Day stating that the day signifies an opportunity to focus global attention on protecting the ozone layer.

Mr Rajshekhar Puranik, Senior Environment Officer, KSPCB, spoke about the effects of excessive consumption and exploitation of natural resources due to urbanization and industrialization. He pointed out that proper planning is required for sustainable development. In his presidential address Dr. R Srinivas Rao Kunte, Principal, spoke about climate change and its impact on the environment. As a part of theprogram,technical talkswere delivered by two eminent resource persons Dr. S.Manjappa and Dr. Ganesh D.B. Dean, R&D and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, G M Institute of Technology, Davangere. Dr. S Manjappa spoke about the harmful effects of pollution on Ozone in Troposphere, effects of Ozone depletion and removal of Ozone depletion substance for sustainable development. Dr. Ganesh D. B. spoke on "The trends in I.C Engines and Fuel Injection System for Better Environment".

The guests went around the Sahyadri campus visiting the Mech Tech Garage, Hands-on Lab,and the various Sahyadri startups and industries. They were amazed to see the various start-ups in the campus. They appreciated the infrastructure, ambience and all the innovative initiatives taken by the college.

Dr.U. Yugandhar & Dr.Ashutosh Saxeena of AIMSCS visit Sahyadri Dr.U. Yugandhar & Dr.Ashutosh Saxeena of AIMSCS visit Sahyadri Two eminent personalities Dr. U.Yugandhar, Director of Management Services, and Dr. Ashutosh Saxeena, Professor, both from CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS), Hyderabad visited the campus for Student Interaction Program. Dr U.Yugandhar being the pioneer of the AIMSCS organization shared information about AIMSCS and its services to the society and emphasized on the need and demand forcyber security. Dr. Saxeena delivered a talk on "Cyber Security & Cryptography". He spoke about the basics,challenges and applications of Cyber security and inspired the students and faculty members to begin their projects and research in the area of cyber security via student interaction program. Dr.Saxeena and Dr.Yugandhar shared ideas about how both organizations can collaborate to contribute for the secure platform for Digital India applications and for short term courses to enhance the technical skills of Stakeholders.

Professor, Computer Science & Engg., Mr. Naitik S.T., Asst.Professor, Information Science & Engineering, Ms.Deepthi, Asst.Professor, Maths, Mr.Kiran Kumar V.G., Assoc.Professor, Electronics & Communication Engineering were also present.

Achievement of a First Year Information Sciencestudent

Sanjay K., First Yearstudent of Information Science&Engineering,participated in the National level Volley Ball tournament held at Hyderabad (AP)and secured third place.

He was selected to participate in National level Athletics.

Recruitment Drive conducted by MyAnatomy
