Director-Research attended First Annual Innovation Festival of MHRD at AICTE, Delhi

Dr. Manjappa S, Director-Research & Development attended the "First Annual Innovation Festival of the MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)”at AICTE Headquarters, New Delhi on 11th Sep’19. The function was graced by Hon'ble Minister, MHRD Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal; Hon'ble Minister of State, MHRD Shri Sanjay Dhotre; Chairman-AICTE Prof. Anil. D. Sahastrabuddhi and Chairman-UGC Prof. DP Singh. During the festival, Innovation cell showcased more than 70 top students’ innovations from across India.

Campus Recruitment Drive for MBAs – Frozen Bottle

Mr. Vijayanand Kandasamy, the General Manager-HR and L&D and Ms. Poojitha from the L&D Department of Frozen Bottle was at the campus to hire MBAs of 2020 outgoing batch for the position of Area Manager. A total of 111 students registered for the drive. The results will be announced shortly.

Frozen Bottle, one of India's trendiest milkshake brand is on a run to build its own outlet army across the globe. Started off from Bengaluru, it is now in over 11 cities in India with 90 outlets and aims to open up over 200 outlets in the next 2 years.

Faculty invited as a Session Chair for an International Conference at The NorthCap University, Gurugram

Prof. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering was invited as a Session Chair in the International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Data Science (ICCIDS 2019) organized by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, The NorthCap University, Gurugram, in association with the University Of Dayton, Ohio, USA during 6th - 7th Sep’19. He also presented a paper titled 'Classification of Handwritten Devanagri Number - An Analysis of Pattern Recognition Tool using Neural Network and CNN" in the same conference. The presented paper will be published in Procedia Computer Science Journal, Elsevier.

Industry-Academia Research by Mechanical Faculty culminated in International Paper Publication

As a part of Industry-Academia Research, Prof. Abhishek, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering conducted a study on ‘Machining of Titanium for Nuclear applications’ for Caliper Engineering & Lab Pvt Ltd. Caliper, who supplies critical products to Nuclear Industry, shared a problem statement on machining in Titanium material. Prof. Abhishek conducted studies & provided vital solution (s) to Caliper, which enabled them to select right cutting tools and parameters to complete Titanium machining successfully.

Prof. Abhishek, then wrote a paper which is published in “International Journal of Innovative Science & Research Technology”.

First year engineering students win prizes in inter-collegiate Poster competition

Two teams of first year engineering have won prizes in the Inter-collegiate Poster Presentation competition organized by Mental Health Nursing Department, Yenepoya Nursing College, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) in commemoration of World Suicide Prevention day on the theme Shinning a light on Suicide Prevention. Ms Aanchal and Mr Dhanush S won the second prize and Ms Pooja K V Shekar and Ms Adithi V Shetty won the third prize. They competed against 20 teams to secure the prizes. Mr Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, provided the students with the necessary guidance and conceptual understanding about the theme and also accompanied the students to the event.
