The theme of this edition was "Augmenting Skills, Accelerating Growth", which aimed to bring together Industry Experts, Academic leaders and Government policymakers to help people Up-skill and Future-proof themselves, which is expected to be the defining challenge in near future.

Sahyadri attends the ICT BRIDGE 2019 Conference held at Bengaluru This conference is a platform where visionaries lay out their blueprint to set right skill combination to make existing and upcoming workforce to augment rather than compete with technology. It is the only event addressing the stakeholders and leaders in the process of bridging the Industry & Academia towards an accelerated growth path of the nation.

The key note speakers for the event were Dr. Kalpana Gopalan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka; Ms. Lakshmi Venkatakrishnan, Software Development Director, Oracle India; Mr. Chakravarthy ES, Global Head - Resource Management Group, TCS; Mr. Raju Dixit, Senior Director, Samsung Research India; Naganagouda SJ, Vice President & Head HR, Global Edge and many more. The event witnessed around 14 Industry Champions from various IT Majors and 100+ Human Resource & Technology leaders & Technopreneurs.

Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM) was accompanied by the Faculty fraternity from the Institute for the event. Sahyadri being the academic partner for this conference received the sponsorship felicitation at the event.

Technical Talk organised by Civil Engineering DepartmentTechnical Talk organised by Civil Engineering Department In commemoration with ‘158th Birth Anniversary of ‘Sir M Visvesvaraya’ and also the ‘52nd Engineer’s Day’, Department of Civil Engineering in association with Consulting Civil Engineers, Mangalore Centre has organized technical talk for IIIrd year Civil Engineering Students.

Technical Talk organised by Civil Engineering Department Mr. Ujwal D’souza, Director - Operations & Administration, Marian Projects and Dr. Raghavendra Holla, Professor, MIT, Manipal were invited as the guest speakers for the talk. Mr. Ujwal D’Souza, shared a few insights on Project Management stressing on the importance of Resource Management, Planning, Scheduling, Surveying some of the mandatory area of Civil Engineering field. In his talk, Er. Ujwal also highlighted about a range of job opportunities available in the field of Civil Engineering and how one should be prepared to grab each one of them.

Dr. Raghavendra Holla shared his thoughts on Professional Ethics emphasizing on the primary values of code of conduct and universal ethical principles to be followed in Civil Engineering Profession. He concluded his session by quoting – “Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do.”

Campus Recruitment Drive – FACE

Campus Recruitment Drive – FACE FACE (Focus Academy for Career Enhancement) conducted an exclusive campus recruitment drive on 26th Sept'19 for the students of 2020 batch. A total of 170 students from all branches of Engineering participated in the drive. Two students, Ms. Shruthi D Shetty, Department of Information Science & Engineering and Ms. Shakshi Kumari, Department of Mechanical Engineering got selected for the position of ‘Business Analyst’.

The result for the position of ‘Software Developer’ is awaited.

Blood Stem Cell Donors Registration Camp at Sahyadri

Blood Stem Cell Donors Registration Camp at SahyadriBlood Stem Cell Donors Registration Camp at Sahyadri Sahyadri NSS Unit and Sahyadri Youth Red Cross Wing in association with DKMS-BMST Foundation organized Blood Stem Cell Donor’s Registration Camp for the Students and Staff of Sahyadri. The volunteers provided their HLA samples collected from their mouth through buccal swab and they got themselves registered in the universal database. The Camp received good response, as more than 250 members participated in the camp.

MBA Faculty Pledged to donate her Organs

Ms. Akshatha Prabhakar, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration took a pledge to donate her organs today under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Ankith S. Kumar,Student Counselor. She registered her name as a donor in the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO). Sahyadri applauds her generous and heroic gesture.

Faculty Members visits Incognito Forensic Foundation (IFF Lab), BengaluruFaculty Members visits Incognito Forensic Foundation (IFF Lab), Bengaluru Prof. Ramesh K.G, Dean Strategy Planning; Dr. Anush Bekal, In-charge Industry Connect; Prof. Padmanabh, Department of Business Administration; Prof. Duddela Sai Prashanth and Prof. Harisha, Computer Science & Engineering Department visited Incognito Forensic Foundation Lab (IFF Lab), Bengaluru on 24th Sep’19. Mr. Suresh Kumar and Mr. Mohith Parmar, Director- IFF Lab, facilitated their visit to the Labs and introduced the facilities available at the company premise.

Incognito Forensic Foundation (IFF Lab) is a non-profit organization established under Section 8 of the Companies Act. They offer a complete range of forensic services and solutions, including litigation consulting, electronic discovery and forensic casework. They have a futuristic cyber-crime and digital forensic center which offers solutions catering to different segments of the society such as law enforcement agencies, private investigators, individuals, corporate and the government.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

• Robosoft Technologies Private Ltd is visiting Sahyadri, to conduct a pool campus recruitment drive for the Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering branch students of 2020 outgoing batch. The recruitment is for the position of ‘Trainee Software Engineer’.

Robosoft Technologies, established in 1996, is a mid-sized software company specializing in C/C++/Java product development for Windows, Mac OS and Linux, providing software product development services to its global clientele. Since 2008, Robosoft has been a leading provider of product development services for the new generation smartphone platforms like iOS, Android, Blackberry OS, Symbian and Windows Phone 7.

• Department of Computer Science & Engineering will be organizing a One day 'IT Quiz-Chanakya 2019' at Sahyadri. This competition is open to all the Graduate and Post Graduate students of various Colleges and Universities of college in Karnataka. The competition will provide unique and exciting platform to refresh their knowledge in the field of Information Technology. The winners will be rewarded with the Exciting Cash Prizes and other attractive gifts from various Sponsors of the event .
