Anagha D S, Nidhi Mishra, student of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, have been offered an internship opportunity at Japanet Holdings Co. Ltd, a renowned company based in Japan. This internship program is scheduled to take place from 17th March to 28th March, providing them with valuable international exposure and hands-on experience in a professional work environment. The opportunity to intern at Japanet Holdings Co. Ltd will allow them to enhance their technical skills, gain insights into industry practices, and collaborate with experts in the field.

ECE students contribute to Animal Welfare initiative in Mangaluru

Purvi G Rao and Sahana Gowri P, students from the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, actively participated as volunteers in a citywide dog survey conducted by Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) in collaboration with Animal Care Trust (A.C.T) and Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS).
Held from 9th to 13th Feb ‘2025, the survey covered 60 wards in Mangaluru, collecting crucial data to support the rescue and sterilization of stray dogs. Their dedication to data collection and integration into the WVS portal was vital to this impactful initiative.
In recognition of their efforts, Shri Ravichandra Naik, MCC Commissioner, awarded them certificates of appreciation for their commendable contribution.

Industry-led Five-Day Skill Enhancement Course - ‘Advanced Analytics on Python and SQL’ for MBA’s

Business Toys Pvt Ltd conducted a five-day Advanced ‘Analytics Course on Python and SQL’ for MBA students from 24th to 28th February 2025, building on their foundational knowledge up to predictive modelling. The program focused on practical applications of data analytics in business decision-making.

Students learned advanced SQL techniques such as query optimization, joins, and database management. In Python, they explored data manipulation, visualization, and automation of analytics workflows. The training included hands-on case studies and projects, allowing students to apply their skills to real-world business problems. By the end of the program, students were evaluated through an assessment and feedback has been shared with the department. This course has enabled the MBA students to use data-driven insights for HR, Marketing, and Finance.

Coaching Camp for VTU Handball Women Team at Sahyadri

VTU Handball Women Team Coaching camp was held at Sahyadri during 25th February to 2nd March, 2025. This team is now leaving to Periyar University, Salem (TN) during 3rd to 7th March, 2025 for Handball Championship along with the Team Manager – Mr. Karnakumar K S and Coach – Mr. Robert Rayappa.

MBA faculty completes FDP on ‘OBE and Application of Generative AI in Teaching and Research’

Dr Prima Dsouza, Department of MBA, actively participated in the one-week international online FDP on ‘Outcome-Based Education and Application of Generative AI in Teaching and Research’, organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Carmel College (Autonomous), Mala, Thrissur, in association with the Collegiate Education Department, Government of Kerala, from February

20 to February 28, 2025. The FDP aimed to enhance faculty members' understanding of outcome-based education methodologies and equip them with the skills to effectively integrate generative AI tools into teaching and research. Dr Dsouza successfully completed all assessments and earned an A grade.
