Sahyadri's History
The sprawling campus just off the Mangalore-Bangalore National Highway 48 is situated on the banks of the river Nethravathi. Surrounded with natures pristine beauty and an excellent infrastructure coupled with dedicated and experienced faculty has made the Campus a much sought-after abode of learning.
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (SCEM), Mangaluru, an Autonomous Institute affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, was established in the year 2007 under the Bhandary Foundation.
It is one of the premier technological institutions inculcating quality and value-based education through innovative teaching learning processes for holistic development of the students. The College is approved by AICTE & Government of Karnataka and Accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grade, Five Engineering Programs accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and also the Institution of Engineers (India) (IE(I)). The institute is recognized under Section 2(f) and 12(b) of University Grants Commission (UGC) act and as Innovation Cell by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), India. Sahyadri has been recognized by Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The Institute also houses New Age Incubation Network (NAIN)/k-Tech since 2017 to promote Product Development and Incubation, recognized by MSME as Host Institute (HI) to establish technical Business Incubator (BI) in 2020. The Institute is listed in the top 25 most innovative self-financed private institutions in India by ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA), 2020 and placed in band “excellent” under Private Engineering Colleges 2021. The Institute has been awarded 4-star ranking by the MHRD-IIC for three successive years - 2019, 2020 and 2021. Sahyadri has collaborations and networking with many National and International research organizations, Educational Institutions and Industries.
Program
Currently, the institute is offering 9 Undergraduate (UG) Degree Programs and a Post Graduate (PG) Degree Program under which around 3000 students from culturally diversified backgrounds are enrolled.
Infrastructure
The campus is artistically built in the courtyard system with spacious class rooms, well - equipped laboratories and a central library. The In-house Industries, Start-ups, LLPs and Launchpad are the main hold of the College
