CSE Department and Niveus Solutions (part of NTT DATA) Sign MoU to Boost Student Industry Exposure

In a move aimed at strengthening industry-academia collaboration, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Niveus Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a part of the global IT services giant NTT DATA. The partnership, formalized on May 19, 2025, marks a significant milestone in enhancing student exposure to real-world industry practices.
The MoU, set to span an initial period of 24 months, outlines a collaborative framework focused on boosting skill development, employability, and placement opportunities for students. Under this agreement, Niveus Solutions will offer internships to eligible CSE students, giving them hands-on industry experience in live projects and cloud-based solutions. The initiative aims to bridge the often-cited gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. In addition to internships, the partnership includes industrial visits to Niveus Solutions' offices, allowing students to gain direct insights into contemporary industry processes, tools, and technologies. The agreement also includes campus recruitment support, with Niveus expressing interest in hiring skilled SCEM students through dedicated placement drives.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Suyog Shetty, Vice President - Global Cloud and Security at Niveus Solutions, Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Professor and Head of the Department of CSE at SCEM, and Dr. S.S. Injaganeri, Principal of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. Speaking at the occasion, Mrs. Shipra, Vice President - People Operations at Niveus, emphasized the importance of nurturing talent through sustained collaboration between academia and industry to meet the evolving demands of the tech sector. Dr. Mustafa lauded the initiative, noting that such partnerships not only provide students with practical exposure and confidence, but also align academic learning with the needs of the modern IT industry.
Representing Niveus Solutions were Mr. Mohsin Khan (Founder & CTO), Adarsh Prabhu (Pre-sales Leader), and other senior team members. From the Department of CSE, Dr. Priya Kamath, Dr. Suhas A. Bhyratae, Dr. Joyline D’Sa, Mr. Harisha, and Mr. Srinivas P.M. were also present to witness the signing ceremony. This collaboration is expected to open dynamic new avenues for students, fostering innovation, enhancing job readiness, and ultimately contributing to the creation of a skilled, future-ready tech workforce.

Results of Sports Day 2025

ARENA-2025, held on 17th May 2025 at Sahyadri, was a spectacular showcase of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The event featured a wide array of athletic competitions, bringing together students from various departments to compete in the true spirit of sports.
All the winners were felicitated on the same day in a ceremony that honored their dedication and achievements. The spotlight shone on the Individual Champions:

The March Past event added a touch of discipline and grandeur to the occasion, with the following teams taking top honors:

The event concluded with the lowering of the ARENA 2025 flag by the Individual Champions, symbolizing the end of the spirited competition. The meet was officially declared closed by Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Vice Principal, marking the end of a truly memorable and inspiring sports event.

ISE Students Shine at UDBHAV-2025

Bringing pride to the Department of Information Science & Engineering, Shivani K and Sushmita Nagekar from 6th semester recently participated in the prestigious UDBHAV-2025 National Level Project Exhibition held at Mysore Royal Institute of Technology (MRIT), Mysuru. They presented their innovative Mini-project titled Naari Suraksha – Women’s Safety App,

developed with the aim of enhancing women’s safety through real-time alert systems, GPS-based location tracking, emergency contact access, and a user-friendly interface. The project was highly appreciated for its technical merit, social relevance, and impactful execution.

Their efforts were recognized with a Consolation Prize of ₹1,000 and a Certificate of Achievement. The project was guided by Prof. Prajna U. R. and strongly supported by the HoD of the department.

Day 6 – Rangoli Competition Paints the Campus in Color and Culture

Day 6 of UTKhanan 4.0 – 2025 witnessed a spectacular Rangoli Competition, with 181 teams participating in a vibrant display of creativity and tradition. Using colored powders, flowers, and innovative materials, students crafted intricate designs that reflected cultural themes, artistic precision, and teamwork. The competition brought life and color to the campus, transforming spaces into visual masterpieces. It stood as a beautiful blend of art, culture, and festive spirit, making the day truly memorable.

Dr. Prabhu interacts with the parents of Aditya Birla School, Mumbai

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering and Principal Investigator at the digital forensics and cyber security center of excellence at Sahyadri was invited by the office of Neerja Birla, to deliver a session on Internet Safety for the parents of the students studying in Aditya Birla School, Mumbai.

More than 200 parents attended this eye opener 2 hour session which concluded with an exhaustive round of Q and A. Aachal Jain, Pastoral Care Coordinator delivered the inaugural address.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering is organizing a half-day workshop titled “Sharpening Minds: Boosting Skills and Academic Excellence” on 20th May 2025 at 9:30 AM in the Ground Floor Seminar Hall.

The session will be facilitated by Mr. Ganesh Hebbar, Centre Director at T.I.M.E., Mangaluru/Udupi. Aimed at empowering students with strategies for academic success and personal development, the workshop is expected to engage participants in thought-provoking discussions and actionable insights.
