Placement and Training: TCS Recruits at Sahyadri with Largest Panel Ever

In a landmark event, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of India’s leading IT services firms, conducted a large-scale recruitment drive at Sahyadri, as part of its Karnataka-wide hiring initiative. What made this drive truly historic was the presence of 95 TCS panelists on campus—the highest number ever to visit Sahyadri for a single recruitment event.
This massive engagement marks a significant milestone for the institution, showcasing its growing reputation as a preferred talent hub for top-tier companies. The drive saw enthusiastic participation from more than 500 pre-assessed candidates across Karnataka, who had cleared the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT).
With meticulous planning and coordination by the Training & Placement Department, the campus was abuzz with activity from the early hours. Multiple interview zones were set up to ensure smooth operations, with logistics and hospitality managed seamlessly.
Dean of Placements, Ms. Rashmi Bhandary, expressed her pride:
"Hosting a record number of panelists from TCS is not only a testament to the credibility of our training ecosystem but also reflects the confidence that industry leaders have in Sahyadri’s talent pool."
The presence of senior HRs and technical experts from TCS further enriched the experience, with many appreciating the campus infrastructure and student preparedness.

Youth Red Cross team takes part in Vanamahotsava: World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Indian Red Cross Society Dakshina Kannada branch had organized the celebration by planting the saplings and a talk on ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ by well-known environmentalist Dr. Radhakrishna Nayar, the Green Hero of India at its office premises in Bunder, Mangalore. About 20 of the Youth Red Cross members of Sahyadri participated in Vanamahotsava event.

Dr. Radhakrishna addressing the students called for active participation of the youth in preservation of earth. He said, life of each one of us is not permanent on the earth but the good deeds of planting trees is permanent, because trees are responsible for rejuvenation of the earth. He said reducing plastic use is the surest way of preserving nature. If consciously tried, each one can stop the single use plastic. He concluded by saying, grow plants, stop plastic use and handover the pristine nature to the generation next.

Dr. R.K. Nair (Radhakrishnan Nair), aptly called the "Green Hero of India," is helping Indian states build urban forests. Dr. Nair is a key figure in introducing and scaling up the Miyawaki method of forestation in India. Dr. Nair's work includes the creation of the world's largest Miyawaki forest, Smritivan in Kutch, Gujarat, and the establishment of over 100 Miyawaki forests across India through his non-profit, Enviro Creators Foundation.

Students planted the saplings in the Vanamahotsava. Ms. Smitha Shenoy, AAO and Red Cross Convener had organized the event. CA Shantaram Shetty, Chairman of IRSC DK, Sri Kishore Chandra Hegde, secretary, members of IRCS and Press Club were present.

Two-Day PGECT Training by MBA Dept.

On 5th and 6th June 2025, PGCET Training was organized by the Dept. of Business Administration-MBA facilitated by the in-house faculty. More than 25 MBA aspirants attended the training programme. Session on ‘Quantitative Analysis’ was facilitated by Mr. Nageshwar Rao, Placements & Training; ‘Computer Awareness’ by Dr. Duddela Prashanth, Dept. of AI & ML; ‘Proficiency in English’ by Ms. Supritha Shine, Dept. of Humanities; ‘Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning’ by Prof. Anirudh Bhat, Dept. of Business Administration and General Knowledge along with PGCET process by Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning. At the end of the training, PGCET Mock Test was conducted and the participants who scored highest marks were awarded. The event was coordinated by Prof. Awin Eric Cutinha.
