MBA students placed at Prakash Retail Private Limited (Harsha)

The Final year MBA students Abhishek Siddappa Nadugaddi, Laxmikant P Cheeli, Mohammed Anees, Mohammed Nazakath Y Birkodikar have been recruited by Prakash Retail Private Limited (Harsha).

Harsha began their journey in 1983 with the establishment of Prakash Electric Company, a distribution business committed to quality and customer trust. By 1986, Harsha had successfully captured a significant share of the market, which inspired them to venture into the organized retail space, a bold move at a time when organized retailing was virtually unknown in India.Guided by vision and customer-centric values, Harsha's journey steadily progressed, achieving an impressive annual turnover of Rs. 328 Crores by 2015-16.

ECE Concludes ELECTROTHON 2026: Innovating for Sustainable Solutions

The Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), successfully organized ELECTROTHON 2026 powered by The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers IETE in association with Sahyadri - Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), an intra-departmental hackathon for 2nd and 3rd year students, held from 6–10 March 2026.

The event challenged students to develop technology-driven solutions using electronics and embedded systems based on problem statements adapted from the Smart India Hackathon repository. Over three days, teams ideated, designed, and developed prototypes addressing real-world challenges.

After the first round of evaluation on 9th March 2026, the top 20 teams (10 from 2nd year and 10 from 3rd year) advanced to the final round. The final presentations on 10th March 2026 were evaluated by external faculty from the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Mechanical Engineering & Robotics & Automation (MERA), providing valuable interdisciplinary feedback.

ELECTROTHON 2026 provided students with an excellent platform to apply technical knowledge, strengthen teamwork, and build innovative solutions aligned with sustainability and national development goals.

CSE Faculty Achievement at European Congress of Radiology (ECR 2026)

Dr. Shreema Shetty, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, achieved international recognition by presenting two research papers at the prestigious European Congress of Radiology 2026 held from March 3–7, 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

The two papers titled “The Estimated Market of Radiology Imaging Devices in Asia Pacific and European Union” and “A Review of Therapeutic Procedures Using Image Guidance in Cancer Management” were accepted and orally presented at the conference.

European Congress of Radiology is one of the largest international conferences in medical imaging and radiology, organized by the European Society of Radiology. The ECR 2026 conference focused on the foundations of radiology, radiology education, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in medical imaging.

The abstracts of the presented research papers will be published as a supplement in the open-access journal Insights into Imaging, which is indexed in the Web of Science with an Impact Factor of 4.5.

Faculty Research Publication in SpringerNature Journal

Dr. F. Jyothi Serrao, Professor, Department of Physics, and Dr. Savitha M. B., Professor, Department of Chemistry, have published a research paper titled “Synergistic Role of Reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO) in Tuning the Optoelectrical Response of AZO: rGO Nanocomposite Thin Films” in the Indian Journal of Physics, a Q3 journal (Impact Factor: 1.7) indexed in SCIE and Scopus, published by Springer Nature.
