Guests Visit: Mr. Sabareesh Kornipalli, Chief Financial Officer, Airawat Research Foundation and Ms. Pragathi Priyadarshini, Academic Researcher, IIT Kanpur

Sahyadri had the honour of hosting Mr. Sabareesh Kornipalli, Chief Financial Officer, Airawat Research Foundation (a Section 8 not-for-profit organization established by IIT Kanpur), and Mrs. Pragathi Priyadarshini, Academic Researcher associated with IIT Kanpur, on 03rd Jan 2026 (Saturday). The visit was organized with the objective of exploring strategic collaborations in industry-driven projects, research initiatives, mentoring, and engagement with the startup ecosystem.

During their interaction with the Heads of Departments and faculty members, the session commenced with a comprehensive presentation on Sahyadri, showcasing the institution’s academic initiatives, notable achievements, research orientation, and its sustained commitment to innovation and excellence.

A dedicated and in-depth discussion was subsequently held with the Finance Team of Sahyadri, focusing on residential programmes, internship opportunities, training frameworks, and potential collaboration models. The deliberations placed strong emphasis on training and placement outcomes, providing students with practical industry exposure, structured skill development pathways, and opportunities through Centres of Excellence, thereby strengthening industry relevance and enhancing graduate employability. The session was further enriched by the presence of Dr. J. G. Manjunath, External Research Member, who shared valuable insights and guidelines on effectively supporting and facilitating research activities, with actionable steps currently under implementation.

As part of the visit, Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, personally accompanied the guests on a comprehensive campus visit, offering an overview of Sahyadri’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced laboratories, skill development centres, and academic facilities. The visit served as a significant milestone in reinforcing academic–industry–research partnerships and reaffirmed Sahyadri’s commitment to fostering research excellence, innovation-driven education, and holistic student development.

Director-R&D nominated as an Expert Committee Member of the Karnataka Coastal Zone Management Authority by the GoI

Government of India has reconstituted Coastal Zone Management Committee for Karnataka and Dr. Sarathi Manjappa, Director R&D is one of the members of the expert committee. This committee is headed by additional Chief Secretary Environment and Forest and Ecology Govt of Karnataka. Dr Sarathi has an experience of

working as member of National coastal Zone Management from 2007-10 and expert committee member of State and central environment. He is also the Member and Chairman of Technical Advisory Committee of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board since 2001. He was also a member of Selection committee constituted by Govt of Karnataka during the year 2025 for the selection of Chairman Karnataka State Pollution Control Board Bangalore. Dr Manjunath Bhandary Chairman SCEM and the faculty members congratulated him for his nomination.

Likith Bhandary, a final-year MBA student specializing in Finance & Marketing, has been placed at ITC Limited as Sales Trainee.

ITC Limited is a major Indian conglomerate with diverse businesses, originally the Imperial Tobacco Company, now spanning FMCG (foods, personal care, stationery), Hotels, Paperboards & Packaging, Agri-Business, and Information Technology (ITC Infotech). Alumni interacts with first-year MBA students

Rahul Hurtis, an alumnus from the 2022–2024 MBA batch and currently working as Analyst 2 at Goldman Sachs, visited the campus and interacted with first-year MBA students. During the session, Rahul emphasised the importance of maintaining strong academic performance while actively engaging in extracurricular activities. He shared how participation in clubs and campus initiatives helped him build skills, confidence, and professional networks all of which played a key role in securing his role at Goldman Sachs. Rahul encouraged students to make the most of every opportunity on campus, highlighting that involvement beyond the classroom not only shapes personality but also enhances employability.
