Deeksha D Shetty, Harismitha, and Gurudeep from the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department have been recruited by TIF Labs for roles in Embedded Development and Procurement & Supply Chain Management.

Sahyadri Premier League (SPL 2025)

Sahyadri Premier League (SPL 2025), an inter-class cricket tournament for students from all Engineering and MBA branches (including faculty), was held from 30th May to 7th June 2025 at the Sahyadri Ground. The event was organized by the Dept. of Physical Education and student members: Chiranthan Brahma, Vaishak C. Shetty, Vaibhav N. Bhandary, Rahul Hegde, and Manvith Devadiga.
A total of ten teams participated in the tournament:

The concluding ceremony was held in the presence of Sandesh Kumar, supporting staff of Dept. of Physical Education, and prizes were awarded to outstanding performers.

MBA Faculty members Published Design Patent on “AI-Powered Smart Shopping Cart with Interactive Display”

Prof. Sagar Attavar and Dr. Prima Dsouza, Dept. of Business Administration has published a design patent titled: “AI-Powered Smart Shopping Cart with Interactive Display.” This design represents a forward-thinking approach to integrating artificial intelligence into the retail shopping experience. The smart shopping cart features an interactive display system designed to enhance customer convenience and engagement, marking a valuable contribution to the evolving landscape of intelligent consumer technology. The patent is published in Journal No.: 23/2025 on Journal Date: 06/06/2025. The development and publication of this device fall under the purview of the Designs Act, 2000 and the Designs Rules, 2001, which govern the protection of novel industrial designs in India.

MBA Faculty invited as a Resource Person for a Career Guidance Program at Shakthi PU College, Mangalore

Mr. Awin Eric Cutinha, Dept. of Business Administration was invited as a Resource person for a Career guidance program at Shakthi PU College Mangalore. The session was organized for 60 PU students of Commerce on 9th June 2025. He shared his rich teaching experience and expertise in guiding students through the evolving landscape of commerce and management careers. The session began with an introduction to the importance of career planning and the steps involved in making career decisions. He further explained the skills required for commerce students, such as Communication and interpersonal skills, financial literacy, Critical thinking and problem-solving, Adaptability and digital competence. Interactive Q&A session enabled students to clear their doubts regarding course selection, college admission process, and career paths.
