Placements and Training: Recruited by Mu Sigma

A total of 8 students have been recruited by Mu Sigma: Prithvi Shetty, Shrilatha, and Suhas from Computer Science Engineering (CSE); Zeliq Zayyan from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML); Pravardhan Shetty from Cyber Security; Gopala Krishna from Electronics and Communication (EC); and Prajwal Kamath and Prajwal Bhat from Information Science Engineering (ISE).

Sahyadrian secures First Place in Javelin throw

Ms. Disha G Ullal, a student of fifth semester, Dept. of AI & ML has won first place in Javelin throw in the Ullala Taluk Dasara Sports Meet 2024-25 held at Ullala, Mangaluru.

First-year Induction Program: Mr. Sidharth Goyal, IPS, addressed the students

In a session on 24th Sep, 2024, Mr. Sidharth Goyal, IPS, addressed the first-year students, delivering an inspiring speech about his career journey. He was florally welcomed by Dr. Prashanth Rao, Head of the Basic Science Department. Mr. Goyal shared his experiences, from pursuing engineering to completing his MBA, and the challenges he faced along the way. He emphasized the importance of becoming a specialist in a chosen field, which can enhance confidence and performance.
He highlighted the differences between corporate and college life, stressing the value of continuous learning, skill-building, meaningful networking, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Mr. Goyal encouraged students to make well-informed decisions that lead to meaningful career opportunities, enabling both personal growth and family well-being.
As an IPS officer, he spoke about the challenges he faced in understanding his role within the organization and driving revolutionary changes. Mr. Goyal also advised engineering students on building a strong foundation through the development of both technical and soft skills. He urged them to keep learning, adapt to societal changes, and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth while staying true to their ethics and discipline. His message inspired students to follow their passion and take on life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.

Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Kumar, Innovation Officer, MoE's Innovation Cell, GoI visited Sahyadri Incubation Centre

On 24th Sep, 2024, Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Kumar, Innovation Officer and IIC Zonal Coordinator (SWRO & CRO) from the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, visited the Sahyadri Incubation Centre. During his visit, Mr. Kumar engaged with the winners of the SIH 2024 internal hackathon and members of the Sahyadri IIC.
The event was attended by Dr. Manjappa S., Director-Research & Development; Dr. S S Injaganeri, Principal; Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Vice Principal; Dr. Anush Bekal, Head of E&C; and Dr. Navaneeth Bhaskar, Associate Dean of R&D.

Dr. Ajith B S, Asst. Dean (IPR), Prof. Harisha, Convener of IIC, along with other department IIC coordinators Mr. Kiran Prakash, Mr. Ashok A, Mr. Prajwal, and Mr. Manjunath EC, were also present. Prof. Mehanaz moderated the event.

During his visit to the incubation center, Mr. Abhishek praised the wide range of facilities available. Mr. Johnson Tellis, Trustee and CEO, provided insights into the various initiatives, Sahyadri’s innovative set-ups and startup ecosystem.

Dr Prabhu interacts with 400 Lecturers at Bhandarkars College, Kundapur

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre of Excellence was invited by the MAHE to engage a session on Cyber Security to 400+ Lecturers of their constituent colleges.
Dr. Prabhu was felicitated by Pro VC of Manipal University Dr. Sharat Rao in the presence of COO Dr Raviraj.

UK Design Patent Granted to Associate Dean (R&D) for Innovative Drone Technology

Dr. Navaneeth Bhaskar, Associate Dean (R&D) and Associate Professor in the Department of ECE, has been awarded a UK Design Patent by the UK Patent Office for his design titled "Precision Aerial Drone for Automated Coconut Harvesting" (Application No. 6387995). This patent recognizes the unique design of a drone specifically

engineered to enhance the efficiency and automation of coconut harvesting, addressing a significant challenge in agricultural technology. The drone's design is intended to optimize harvesting precision, reducing manual labour and improving productivity in coconut farming. ECE Faculty engages First-Year Students at P A College of Engineering Induction Program

On 19th Sep, 2024, Dr. Chandana B R, Associate Professor in the Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering was invited as a resource person to the first-year induction program at P A College of Engineering. The program aimed to provide an insightful orientation for new students, setting the foundation for their academic journey.
Dr. Chandana B R, a seasoned academician and expert in the field, addressed the gathering of eager students, offering them valuable advice on transitioning into college life and achieving academic success. She shared her experiences, focusing on the importance of personal growth, the role of discipline in education, and the need for continuous learning.

• Ms. Poornima B V has joined the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering as an Asst. Professor. She is a B. E, M.Tech and PhD in Computer Science & Engineering. She holds the life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). She has a total of 11 years of teaching experience in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering.

She has handled courses like Basic concepts of C Computer fundamentals, Advanced computer architecture, PCD, Computer Networks I & II, Web 2.0, Computer Graphics & Visualization, Computer Organization, Python and Software Engineering. Her technical expertise is in C, C++, Data Structures and Python.

• Ms. Shweta Suresh Naik has joined the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering (AI & ML) as an Asst. Professor. She has done B. E in Computer Science and M.Tech in Information Technology. She has a total of 5 years of teaching experience. She has handled subjects like C Programming, Python Programming, Data Structures, Design and Analysis

of Algorithms, AI and ML, Cloud Computing, Operating System, DBMS and Internet of Thing (IoT).
