Prof. (Dr.) D. P. Agrawal, Former Chairman, UPSC interacted with the Sahyadri Research Core Team on ‘Research: Way Forward’

On 28th Oct 2025, Prof. (Dr.) D. P. Agrawal, Former Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), interacted with the Sahyadri Research Core Team and Research Scholars on “Research: Way Forward.”
During the interaction, Dr. Agrawal emphasized the importance of pursuing research in one’s core area of expertise and interest, encouraging every scholar to build their academic career on strong foundational knowledge. He urged research scholars to complete their Ph.D. within three years, and called upon Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal, and Dr. Manjappa S., Director – R&D, to extend continuous support to scholars in achieving this goal.
Dr. Agrawal further reiterated the need for research domains to focus on strategic paper publications, company consultancies, and funded projects. He motivated scholars to draft project proposals and contribute meaningfully to institutional research excellence.
In addition, he encouraged creating awareness among students about UPSC and other competitive examinations, and recommended the involvement of industry mentors for every student to strengthen practical learning and exposure.

Team Building Activity on SDG and Introduction to Research for First year students

Prof. T. P. Thrivikram, Dept. of Basic Science, conducted a Team Building Activity aimed at introducing students to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and providing an introduction to research through a literature survey.
To promote collaboration and balanced team performance, each group was formed by selecting students based on six essential qualities:
1. Leadership Qualities
2. Time Management
3. Technical Knowledge
4. Writing Skills
5. Presentation Skills
6. Creative Thinking
The students developed a better understanding of the SDGs and their relevance to research. Each team successfully connected their chosen problem statements to appropriate SDGs and learned effective methods to search for research articles across multiple academic platforms.
The activity fostered teamwork, creativity, and research awareness among the students. It also encouraged effective time management and provided an engaging, zero time-wastage learning experience for all participants.
Students explained the problem statements through an artistic representation.

MBA Alumni Insight: Campus to Corporate by 2021-23 Batch MBA Marketing alumni

Department of Business Administration, under the banner of the Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club, organized an engaging alumni session by Ms. Ganya Shetty, Sales Development Representative at Mathco and a proud alumna of the 2021–23 (first autonomous) batch.
In her talk on “Strategies for Effective Networking in the Corporate World,” Ms. Ganya shared valuable insights on building meaningful professional relationships and leveraging them for career growth. She drew from her rich experiences in sales development and business strategy, emphasizing the importance of communication, adaptability, and personal branding in today’s dynamic business environment.
She also shed light on emerging opportunities in agri-entrepreneurship, particularly in modern mushroom cultivation and coastal-based ventures, blending sustainability with innovation. Through her discussion, Ms. Ganya encouraged students to integrate academic learning with practical application and to pursue entrepreneurship driven by creativity and purpose.
Additionally, she reflected on her journey as a student leader and one of the initiators of “Carnival Con” (now Sahyadri Carnival), underlining how college events nurture leadership, teamwork, and innovation. The session left students inspired to network effectively, think entrepreneurially, and transform classroom concepts into impactful real-world ventures.

A session on ‘Preparation for Tier-I NBA accreditation’ by Professor (E&T), Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology, Pune

An interactive Session on “Preparation for Tier-I NBA accreditation” was held on 28th Oct 2025. Dr Urmila A Patil Professor (E&T), Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology, Pune was the resource person who briefed about the critical aspects to be considered while preparation for NBA accreditation. Dr Manjappa Sarathi. Director R&D; Dr. M Srinath, COO and department wise NBA coordinators were present in the session. Prof. Vasudeva Rao P V, IQAC coordinator coordinated the session.
