Team Challengers Triumphs at CIDecode, PES College Bangalore

Rahul Pai from Team Challengers and his team showcased exceptional coding skills to win CIDecode, a prestigious competition held at PES College, Bangalore. Their victory earned them a cash prize of ₹10,000.

A group of 43 first-year MBA students, accompanied by Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning, and Dr. Srinath M, COO, had the opportunity to visit Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore as part of their experiential learning program. They witnessed the proceedings of both legislative bodies: the Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) and the Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad).
The visit began at the Vidhan Sabha, where the students observed a discussion among State Legislative Assembly members on the newly passed Micro Loan and Small Loan (Prevention of Coercive Actions) Bill 2025. The bill aimed to address the issue of harassment by microfinance institutions and other money lenders, as well as to prevent unlicensed money lenders from engaging in unauthorized lending activities.
Following this, Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation and a member of the Legislative Council, engaged with the students and arranged for them to visit the Vidhana Parishad, the upper house. During this visit, the students had the chance to observe the Question Hour, a daily session where Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) pose questions to ministers, who then respond. This session was followed by the Zero Hour, a period at the end of the Question Hour during which members raise urgent public matters.
Later, the students, along with the Chairman, had the privilege of meeting and interacting with the Honourable Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Mr. U T Khader. He praised the institute for offering students the opportunity to understand the functioning of the State Assembly and State Council. The students also had the chance to meet and interact with various ministers and members of the legislative bodies during the visit. This provided a valuable learning experience for the management students.

Team Challengers at IIT-BHU (Varanasi) Tech Fest

Team Challengers delivered an outstanding performance at the prestigious IIT-BHU (Varanasi) technical competition. Demonstrating exceptional skill and innovation, the team secured 2nd place in the Bot Obstacle event and 4th place in Aero Modelling. The team comprised Ajay Kumar M, Chirag R P, Krithik G C, Sambhrudh, and Srajan Sanjay Mahale.

Competing against top institutions from across the country, their remarkable achievement highlights their technical expertise, dedication, and teamwork.

On March 7th ‘2025, Mr. Jason Joseph D'Silva, Co-founder of The Boring People, Technical Facilitator at TCE, conducted an engaging and insightful session on portfolio building and skill leveraging for the members of Team Challengers. His expertise and practical guidance provided valuable strategies to effectively showcase individual strengths and achievements, empowering participants to enhance their personal and professional growth.

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre of Excellence is now recognized as Eminent faculty of the National Academy for Customs Indirect taxes and Narcotics. Earlier, he was a subject matter expert, and now after engaging substantial classes and upon

getting outstanding feedback, he is now recognised as Eminent Faculty.
On 11th March 2025, Dr. Prabhu conducted an engaging session on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) for the officers of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), Kolkata. The session aimed to equip officers with cutting-edge knowledge on how AI is transforming intelligence gathering and analysis, particularly in law enforcement and financial investigations.
During the session, Dr. Prabhu delved into the evolving role of AI in data analytics, automation, and threat detection, highlighting its significance in tracking financial fraud, cybercrimes, and illicit trade. He also provided insights into OSINT tools and methodologies, demonstrating their application in real-world cases, from identifying cybercriminal networks to enhancing national security.
The interactive session was well-received by NACIN officers, who appreciated the practical insights and hands-on demonstrations provided by Dr. Prabhu. His expertise in cybersecurity and AI-driven intelligence reinforced the importance of leveraging technology to combat modern threats effectively. Dr. Prabhu continues to play a pivotal role in training government officials and law enforcement agencies across India, helping them stay ahead in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The paper describes high accuracy in Ayurvedic plant detection. The integration of deep learning models presents significant potential for botany and health care applications. By offering reliable and precise identification of Ayurvedic plants, the proposed system supports botanists and healthcare professionals in making informed decisions. This leads to more accurate identification and utilization of traditional medicinal knowledge. These advancements not only improve the efficiency and reliability of plant detection systems but also build confidence in AI-driven solutions within the field of traditional medicine. The model proposed ensures faster and easier way to recognize the medicinal plants and give its description to the reader using deep learning methods with the accuracy of 96% identification systems.

Mechanical Engineering Faculty Published Paper in Q1 Journal

Dr. Shankara Murthy H M, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has published a research paper as the corresponding and co-author titled "Effect of Low-Concentration CuO and RGO Hybrid Nanofluids on Thermal Performance of Automotive Radiator: An Experimental Study and Correlations Development" in the Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, published by Springer. The journal is indexed in Scopus and the Science Citation Index Expanded

(SCIE) and has an Impact Factor of 3, with a Best Quartile ranking of Q1 according to the Scopus database.
The widespread use of both electric and conventional automobiles in daily life results in excessive heat generation, increasing the demand for efficient cooling systems. Traditional coolants often require larger radiators to manage heat dissipation effectively. However, advancements in nanotechnology have enabled the development of innovative heat transfer fluids with enhanced thermal conductivity. In this context, this study explores the improvement of radiator performance using CuO and RGO hybrid nanofluids as coolants. Experimental investigations are conducted to assess the impact of CuO and RGO nanoparticles on the thermal performance of automotive radiators.
