Placement and Training: Toyota Kirloskar Recruitment Drive

Toyota Kirloskar visited Sahyadri on 28th and 29th October, 2025 to conduct a pool campus recruitment drive, which saw participation from over 250 students. On 28th October, 2025 the process began with a pre-placement talk, followed by an online test and Group Discussion for the shortlisted candidates. On 29th October, 2025 the shortlisted students attended the HR interview.

Information Science Engineering Faculty Published a Paper in Q1 Journal

A Research Article titled "GRUFNet: A Hybrid Neural Model for Botnet Detection Using the SDNIoT Dataset” authored by Prof. Suchetha G, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and co-authored by Dr. Pushpalatha K, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (AIML), has been published in a Peer Reviewed Journal - International Journal of Information Technology, September 2025, Volume 17, Issue 7 with E-ISSN: 2511-2112. The journal is published by springer and is indexed in Scopus and is classified as a Q1 journal according to the Scopus database.
This research proposes GRUFNet, a novel hybrid deep learning architecture that integrates a Flow-Aware Gated Recurrent Unit (FA-GRU) with a Custom Fully Connected Neural Network (C-FCNN) for efficient botnet detection in Software-Defined IoT (SDN-IoT) environments. A novel dataset, SDNIoT, was developed using Mininet and the Ryu controller to emulate realistic IoT traffic under DDoS and botnet attack conditions. The GRUFNet model was evaluated on UNSW-NB15, BoT-IoT, and the newly developed SDNIoT dataset, achieving superior accuracy and MCC values demonstrating exceptional performance even under severe class imbalance. The proposed model outperformed existing deep learning frameworks and provides a robust, scalable solution for real-time cyberattack detection in next-generation IoT networks.
