Dept. of Business Administration organises a Global Webinar on “Job Opportunities & Skills Required during COVID Era”

A Global Webinar on “Job Opportunities & Skills Required during COVID Era” was organised by the Dept. of Business Administration in association with HR Shapers, India. Eminent HR professionals across the globe were the speakers for the Webinar.
The session was inaugurated by Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-Dept. of Business Administration. She delivered the welcome note and also gave a glimpse of Sahyadri to the participants. The session was moderated by Mr. Ashish Gakrey, Founder, HR Shapers, Mumbai, India. He did set the background for the Webinar by quoting ‘It’s not a new normal; it is going to be the normal’.
The first panelist was Mr. Murali Mehrwade, Lead HR, Mphasis Australia, Melbourne. He said ‘Change & Adaptability is the new spice of life’. Change is evident and constant but every individual should adapt to changes. He gave insights on sector wise impact of COVID-19. He said that health care, manufacturing, education, financial sector and technology would emerge as winners in the COVID era.
The next panellist Mr. Robert Menezes instilled positivity among the participants stating that more job opportunities would be generated Post-COVID era. He threw light on strategic inflation point and man-machine conflict. Mr, Robert is a Global HR Business Partner at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), Singapore.
Mr. Madan Srinivasan, Associate Vice-President, HCL Technologies, London, United Kingdom quoted “Find adversity in diversity and you have the potential to make it happen”. He asked the participants to reflect on oneself to do something meaningful during the pandemic. Acquiring new skills combined with a spirit of positive mindset would help combat the pandemic successfully. He said that in the midst of the pandemic there is an opportunity.
Finally, Mr. Arun Sukumar Kaimal, HR Director-Water Quality Platform Danaher Corporation, APAC, Singapore, said that crisis would keep coming, but an anti-fragile mindset will help us thrive through all crises”. He stressed on being aware of the lessons learnt from this pandemic. He cited examples of people who have emerged successfully during the crisis by thinking out of box.
This was followed by Q&A session, where the panelists brought in their expertise and rich experience in answering the questions raised by the participants. The session was concluded by Prof. Girish Madla, who expressed his desire to continue the association with HR Shapers, India in the future.
